Armena loses in Rosalind final to Heisler

After coming up short in the B Final in Heisler and the A Final at Bardo Day, the Armena Royals finally brought most of their league team to a tournament and it results in a 2-1 record and an A Final to the Heisler Cardinals.
Game One: Armena Royals vs. Rosalind A’s

Game one saw the Royals start Lyndon Galvin on the hill versus the host Rosalind A’s, and he pitched six scoreless innings while Landon Miller hit two homeruns coming off the bench, and Cole Tomaszewski notched a two-out RBI to stake a 6-0 lead heading to seven. The seventh got real interesting as the A’s notched four runs and got a second out called on them on a controversial infield fly to end the game 6-4.
Semi Final: Spring Lake vs. Armena

Game two saw the elder statesman Jason Buzzell start on late notice versus a Spring Lake team still shaking off the cobwebs from a Zimmer wedding the night before. The Royals jumped out to a 11-1 lead going to seven but again gave up a couple late to end it 11-3.

In the final starter Doug Morris faced a red-hot Heisler club who had come back on Cold Lake after the northern Cardinals jumped out to an 7-1 lead the night before. Morris gave up a solo shot to Cory Martz and six errors helped the Cardinals offense cash in. Martz pitched five for the Cardinals and Nolan Miller closed things out.
Amazingly, the Royals gave up nine of the 15 runs in the final frame on the weekend, and have no given up 20 of their last 26 runs in the final inning. Something that will have to change if they want to make the playoffs, and win playoff games.
All Stars Pitch In
Zenan Sherbaniuk was hot at the plate again, coming off an 0-4 night in Holden on Thursday, going 4-8 on the weekend with three walks and six runs. He made an unbelievable warning track catch midway through the championship tilt as well, still short of the amazing rob job he did versus Heisler earlier in the season. Adam Johnson was also hot going 4-10 with three runs. Ian Sherbaniuk sat out most of the weekend with an injury to heal up for the Midsummer Classic, but pitched the final frame in Heisler, giving up no earned runs.
