Tavaroli the hero for surging Rebels

Ryley’s Brian Tavaroli earned a new nickname in the hamlet of Armena Wednesday night, similar to Bucky Dent and Aaron Boone, as the Rebels won their fifth straight game and look poised for a regular season title after an amazing three weeks of baseball.
Tavaroli and the Rebels, tied 2-2 going to the bottom of the sixth, against rookie righthander Lyndon Galvin, used a lead-off double by Dylan Solberg and a walk to set the table for Tavaroli, who would launch a three-run bomb to make it 5-2 and salt the game away – thus almost crushing any hope of an Armena pennant for the second straight year.

Tavaroli, not known for his power hitting, was not the only one to shine for the surging Rebels. Scott Koughan scattered 10 hits and gave up just three runs on the mound. Cory Epp cashed a two-out two-RBI single in the second inning to make it 2-0 early.
The Royals responded right back with a Clark Banack RBI single and a Landon Miller broken bat reach on an error, before Koughan got David Ritz to fly out with the bases loaded.
The Royals tried to rally and put multiple baserunners on in the final frame but only managed one run on an RBI double by Doug Morris after Zenan Sherbaniuk had a double before him.
Pennant race conundrum
The pennant race is now pretty interesting as league members debate tiebreaker rules. However, with two games left all might not matter as much since Ryley could just win in their final game for the pennant and Beaumont could win to eliminate the Milleteers.
Tonight, we may find out if the rain stays away.
