Quick starts see Expos, Royals face off Thursday

The Armena Royals have bounced back in a big way after a difficult season last year when they went 3-11. The Royals are back to their back-to-back PBL final form on offence putting up a league-leading 41 runs in four games.

But the offence will get tested big-time on Thursday as the new kids on the block, the Edmonton Expos, march into Anniversary Park with the league’s best defence, giving up just six runs in four contests.

Both sit at 4-0 and you have to think the winner of the game sits in a great spot to make the playoffs.

Hot on both their heals will be the Rosalind Athletics. An annual slip-up at the hands of the Camrose Axemen in a one-run loss is their only blemish so far to their quest to make it a three-peat in only their fourth season. The A’s take on the Leduc Milleteers in Rosalind Thursday night.

Although it’s still early in the season, important games are already on the docket. The Camrose Axemen and Tofield Braves can get separation on each other and the Blue Jays and Sherwood Park Athletics could definitely use a W this week to stay in the hunt. Here’s a look at the contests today and tomorrow:
