Leduc Minor Baseball Covid-19 Update

Like many of the area minor baseball associations, the Leduc Baseball Associaiton updated their members on April 3 with the latest decisions regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. The association has fully cancelled their Spring season and are offering their memers full refunds with the hope that some sort of condensed season can begin at some point. With the ever changing situation, the Association will update their members in early May when hopefully, a clearer picture of the spring/summer exists.

The full statement from the Leduc Baseball Association is found below and on their website:

Leduc Baseball Families and Athletes,

The Leduc Baseball Association board of directors have been in communications to discuss the current updates regarding the impact of the COVID-19 on the upcoming 2020 baseball season.

Baseball Alberta has suspended all sanctioned activities until April 30, 2020.  The City of Leduc has also cancelled all facility bookings indoor and outdoor until May 1, 2020.

Leduc Baseball Association Board understands many families with the current crisis may need a little help at this time.  So with this information Leduc Baseball Association Board has concluded that all registered members will receive full refunds for the Spring 2020 season. We are planning to provide full refunds by April 10th.  Thank you for your patience..If you have paid for registration with a pre-paid credit card, please contact the registrar or the treasurer immediately to receive a proper refund.

The Leduc Baseball Association Board will be working on a plan in the coming weeks as to what any baseball season or condensed season may look like. With hope of being able to possibly reopen registration for a condensed season.  The Leduc Baseball Association Board will update the membership at the beginning of May.

At this point, Leduc Baseball Association bingos are cancelled for the month of April. If you have already worked bingos or fulfilled any volunteer role for the upcoming season to date, those credits will be forwarded to the next season that you register for.  From this point forward, with the current situation, if you are scheduled for a bingo your commitment will be removed from the signup.com site. Once Leduc Baseball Association knows when or if any season moves forward we will re-open the volunteer commitment for those that re-register with LBA.

The most current information on COVID-19 can be found on the Alberta Health Services website at: https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/topics/Page16997.aspx

Leduc Baseball Association would like to reiterate that this is a very fluid situation and subject to change in approach as new information becomes available.
