Notes From Senior Day Win
Posted May 4, 2021

Notes:
*Parker Henry saw his batting average rise to .353 after two beautiful bunts for hits vs. the Avery County Vikings. Henry's ability to bunt the baseball is a special skill. His lone out was a deep fly out to the right-center gap. Parker is playing well heading into the postseason.
*Josh Owens had another hit, but more importantly was back in the field for Bulldog Baseball, playing second base.
*Morgan Lyons had two more RBI to give the junior 28 on the season.
*Conor Jones stole his 10th base on the year to move into double digits. Hampton Baseball is 73/84 as a team on stolen base attempts, good enough for a 87% success rate on the season.
*Speaking of stolen bases, rookie, Chance Point stole his 29th base of the season vs. Avery. He also collected a base knock, drew a walk, and knocked in a run.
*Caleb Royston recorded his 100th career strikeout in his four innings of shutout baseball. "Roy" also recorded an RBI base knock up the middle.
*Collin Morgan made his first start at first base of the 2021 season.
*The Baseball Bulldogs have won 12 of 17 overall and are 12-5 since a 2-5 start to the 2021 season. If you remove our losses against North Greene, University High, and Providence Academy, HHS is 14-3 on the season.
*Bulldog Baseball is 3-0 on Senior Day in the Coach Perkins era, with wins vs. South Greene (2018), the FCA Flames (2019), and the Avery County Vikings (2021).
