Supers Fall to Pirates

Posted May 31, 2022

The Parkland Pirates came to Al Sapieha Field on Monday May 30 looking to end the Supers two game winning streak, and did just that with some timely hitting, good fielding and pitching as the Supers fell 8-4.

Kody Rock like he always does went the distance on the hill, allowing eight runs (four earned) on nine hits with twelve strikeouts. However it ended up being his first career loss as a Super, as the Pirates found some holes while taking advantage of several Supers miscues.

The bats were once again silenced as the Supers could only manage five hits. Travis Mentanko hit his second home run in as many games to go along with a single. Jayden Heskin had a double, while Rock and Ian Quewezance each had a single.

Trailing 8-4 heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Supers loaded the bases with none out, but could not push across any runs. With the loss their record is now 2 wins and 1 loss. The next game will be Monday, June 6 in Melville as the same Pirates will host the Supers at Pirie Field. First pitch is 7:30 PM
