Carberry 9-4 (2 games left - Minnedosa and Portage) If the Royals can go 2-0 this week and end up at 11-4 - Plumas holds the head-head at 2-1 this year so they need Plumas to lose at least 2 more games. Odds? If they run the table they are in a decent spot. If they happen to drop one, I would say they need a miracle to secure 1st place and a Pennant.
Plumas 8-3(4 games left - Portage, Austin, Neepawa, Portage) with no help needs to go minimum 3-1 in this stretch to gaurantee the pennant. With a Carberry loss this allows them to go 2-2. Takeaway - with the tiebreaker over Carberry they are in the best spot as the only team that controls their own destiny. Need that 3-1 though without help.
Austin 7-6 (2 games left - Plumas, Minnedosa) If they run the table that would put them at 9-6 - but even if Carberry and Plumas go winless - Carberry would end up ahead of Austin with 9-6 record but a better head to head. They arent technically out of the mix if a three way tie were to happen. Dont ask me on the math on that one yet. Bottom line here is 1 more loss would almost certainly put them into the 3 or 4 spot.
Portage 5-6 (4 games left - Plumas, Neepawa, Carberry, Plumas) Uphill battle here - Currently in 4th would need to run the table to be considered in the top two spots for a bye. That could get into a 4 team time breaker if this happened. End Game? Tough schedule, but if they can go 4-0 that would bring Plumas and Carberry to 5 losses. They would need a little help to get them one more loss each. Never say never on this scrappy team but math is not their friend yet.
Minnedosa 4-9 (2 games left - Carberry Austin) if they ran the table they could stay in 5th or potentially move up one spot to 4th if Portage went 0-4 . Portage holds the head-head so if Portage goes 1-3 or better Minnedosa cant finish better than 5th
Bottom Line? Dont watch the standings too much and try to build momentum for playoffs which will likely be an away series.
Neepawa 4-9 (2 games left - Portage, Plumas) Similar to Minnedosa, they cant move higher than 4th, Currently if they ran the table , they would need 1 Minnedosa loss to go up to 5th place. If they end up with the same record - Minnedosa would be placed higher due to the head-head record. Odds - Likely to earn a split and end up 5th or 6th - away to start playoffs but who would want to play these guys in a first round series?
