October 22nd Sunday Spotlight

Good morning, the THHL and SEMHL each had regular season action last night, here are there stories:
MacGregor Wild @ Carberry Plainsmen
Trey Dickson put the Plainsman on the board first but Robert Smith and Kyle Isenor each found the back of the net before the end of the first for the Wild and MacGregor lead 2-1 after 20 minutes.
In the second period Keean McLaren tied the game at two before MacGregor would get two markers from Jared Hulme and one from Andrew Bayduza to put the Wild up 5-2. Trey Dixon responded with his second of the night for Carberry to make it a 5-3 game Kelly Rintoul scored for MacGregor just a few seconds later and the score was 6-3 for MacGregor. Jaden Johnson finished off the scoring towards the end of the second period. The final score MacGregor 6 Carberry 4
Now on to the SEMHL, Jordan Townsend scored in the first for Morden and Dexter Kuczek found the back of the net for Warren, the game was tied at one after one. Chase Faulkner scored a power play goal in the second to give Warren a 2-1 lead after forty minutes. Faulkner was able to author another goal in the third to increase the lead to 3-1 in favour of Warren. Sven Scheffer cut the gap to 3-2 but that was as close as Morden would come. Warren added an empty netter to make the final Warren 4 Morden 2.
Just one game on todays docket and it’s a heavy weight showdown. The Miniota/Elkhorn C-Hawks host their arch rivals the Virden Oil Kings. Game time is set for 7:30.
