Injury Bug And Inexperience Biting Baseball Bulldogs
Posted March 18, 2024
With starting First Baseman, Jamie Turbyfill lost for the season to surgery, and now starting Third Baseman, Bryce Fagan lost for a minimum of two weeks, the injury bug keeps biting Bulldog Baseball. In addition to injury, inexperience is something we continue to play through. Using plate appearances as an example, senior, Chance Point has been to the plate 354 times in his career. The next highest PA total is sophomore, Jayden Kuhn with 124 plate appearances. Noah Nichols has walked up to the dish 106 times in his career.
The next highest plate apperance number for tonight's starting lineup is Elisha Henson's 78 plate appearances. Following Henson's number, the next highest in career plate appearances for tonight's starting lineup in Mountain City, is Gabriel Lyons with 19 career plate appearances. In fact, following Henson, and including Lyons, our career plate appearance total for tonight's starters are: 19, 12, 12, 6, and 6. Playing through injury, and learning the game and gaining experience while playing a Varsity baseball schedule is not the easiest thing to do, but we will continue to work hard, support one another as a baseball family, and improve as we go.
First pitch tonight at Pete Pavusek Memorial Stadium is at 5:30.
