The 2019 Men's Provincial Championship

The Coquitlam Angels head to Trail BC to play in the 2019 Men’s provincial championship with hopes of taking back their title from last year's disappointing 2nd place finish, before going on to win the Canadian National Championship in August.

Trail is known for the light air and short porch making it a stadium that provides nightmares of pitchers who fall asleep with the sound balls bouncing off the right field waterslide just beyond the fence.

Game one saw fireworks as Honeysett’s 3 run home run helped the Angels put up 14 runs over the Kamloops Sun Devils. Sean Schaefergot the win on the mound, in a 14 -2 blowout to win the first game of the tournament.

Game two was a nail-biter with the Angels taking a 9-7 win over the Ladysminth Pilots who they split the season series with back in July.

The Coquitlam Angels then put up one of the most outstanding displays of run scoring prowess. Scoring 26 runs over 5 innings against the Victoria Mavericks Blue team winning the game on 26-1, with Honeysett, Malm and Clay combining for 3 HR.

After going 3-0 in the round robin. The Coquitlam Angels were set to have a semifinal matchup against the Kamloops Sun Devils.

After celebrating their perfect round robin and #1 seed, they came out flat only scoring 1 run against Kamloops pitcher who went the distance for the win as they continued to chip away against long time veteran and all time Angels leader in games, strikeouts and wins, Sean Schaefer for a final score of 7-1.

The Coquitlam Angels end the season with a 17-9 record.
