The Minnedosa Mavericks have hit the win column, picking up a 16-9 victory over the Carberry Royals. In Other action Plumas shutout Austin 6-0, and Neepawa and Portage tied 10-10.
In Carberry, Devin Foord opened the game with a leadoff homerun, he would end up picking up 2 walks and scoring 3 runs for the Mavericks (1-5). He also threw a complete game on the mound to help the Mavs get that elusive first win of the season. Andrew Richards was 3-4 with 4 runs scored, meanwhile Brayden Stewart walked and scored 3 times. Austin Taylor drove in 4 runs part of a 2-5 night. For Carberry, Ethan Bjornson was tagged with the loss going 4 innings giving up 10 runs. Cory Billeart and Torey Scott were 2-4 on the night for the Royals (3-4).
In Neepawa, Garrett Rempel hit a leadoff homerun for the Cubs (3-2-1) in part of a 2-4 night he also drove in 3 runs. Lincoln Murray stayed hot with a 2-3 night, Jordan Wickens helped the cause going 2-4. Cole Kopytko would hit the game tying RBI in the 7th to preserve the 10-10 tie. Neepawa had a good night on the mound Plett threw 5 and lisoway threw 2 to end the night. Portage(4-1-1) stats not available - (Come on Portage Online, pick it up!)
In Plumas, Rylan Denbow shone bright as he threw a complete game 3 hit shutout for the Pirates(4-2) as they downed the Austin A's 6-0. Denbow struck out 6 and walked none in his 7 inning gem. Dean Rosling led the way for Plumas going 2-3 2 RBI and a walk - he also scored twice. Carter Schettler stayed hot with a 2-4 night with 2RBI. The Austin A's(2-3) didnt get the postgame report done on instagram so I cant share anything awesome about them tonight.
