Not quite the same level of offensive production as their last trip to Clearwater, and the Mud hens had to play some stout defense this time around, but they still managed to shut-out Clearwater for the second consecutive Friday night. The Hens opend the scoring in the top of the second inning when Justin Odlum doubled and then scored on an Owen Sager single. Morden added another run in both the third and fourth innings to round out the scoring, resulting in a 3-0 final score.
Derek Holenski claimed his first win of the season, working in and out of jams over six scoreless innings. Matt Mutcheson picked up the save. Clearwater threatened to score numerous times throughout the game, but the Hens defense was on full display, highlighted by a superb run-saving diving catch made by Acoyen Fehr to end the fourth inning.
The Hens head to Winkler on Tuesday night and then are back at home on Friday against Baldur. First pitch in both games is 7pm.
