Hens Hold on for a Muddy Win

Despite over three inches of rain on Monday, the Morden Rec Department staff were able to get Buhler field just to the point of playability on Tuesday night. Branden Hatley struck out the first six Bison's batters to set the tone early. The Hens' offense broke open the scoring in the bottom of the third inning with four runs, and then added another two in the fourth. Then, Altona strung together a couple walks, and timely hits to score four runs in the top of the fifth inning. The Bisons scored another off of reliever Owen Sager, to make the score 6-5 at that point, but that's as close as they would get. The Hens answered back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to increase their lead to five. The Bisons would add a couple runs in the seventh off of the Hens' second reliever Matt Mutcheson, making the final 10-7.
The Mud Hens hit the road on Friday and head to Cartwright for a date with the Twins, first pitch is 7pm.
