Royals/Centennials Earn Provincial Berths

The Deloraine Royals punched their ticket to Senior AA Provincials Monday night, as they defeated the Rivers Comets 11-4 in a 1-game play-in for the right to attend the tournament. Kyle Breemersch went the distance giving up 4 runs on 7 hits and collecting 8 strikeouts. Kai Ryden paced the Royals offence, reaching base three times and scoring twice. Mitch Olson and Eric Sorenson both went deep, helping Deloriane to the emphatic victory.
The SWBL sends two teams to the Provincial Tournmanent, as the Royals will be joined by the 1st place Boissevain Centennials in Morden from July 19-21. Deloriane and Rivers needed to play off due to their identical 11-5 records this season.
