Padres strike first at home

The Portage Padres have claimed a 1-0 series lead after an 8-4 victory over the Minnedosa Mavericks last night.
Portage would start the scoring early with 4 runs in the first, none of them being earned after a pop fly to right was over ran by the fielder. The Mavericks would cut the lead in half in the 3rd off of a 2 rbi single by Ryan Heino. The Padres would answer back with 2 of there own in the 3rd to restore the 4 run lead. Daylan Laramee doubled and Tanner Jago singled to bring in those runs. The Mavericks would put one across in the 4th on 3 Padre errors, and another player thrown out at home. The Padres again would answer again with a solo bomb by Rookie of the Year Carson Dubois to make it 7-3 Padres. They would score another in the 5th to make it 8-3 on a Verhaeven single that scored Tanner Jago, after he laced a double to left.. The Mavericks would score 1 in the 6th to make it 8-4. That would be your final.
