Plumas sends Cubs into Hibernation

The Plumas Pirates are heading to the Santa Clara Baseball Championship for the 3rd year in a row after a 6-2 win over Neepawa last night - sweeping the best of 3 semi finals.
In Plumas, Rylan Denbow earned the win throwing 6 1/3 innings to earn the victory. He would only give up 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 5. Garrett Rempel took the loss for Neepawa throwing 5 innings, giving up 5 runs, 3 of which were earned.
Riley McBride kicked things off with a bang for the hometown Pirates with a leadoff homerun to get the offense going. They would score another in the 2nd, and 3 more in the 5th to take a 5-0 lead. Neepawa would chase 1 across in the 6th and 7th, but it wasnt enough. McBride ended up 2-3 with a walk and 2 runs scored. Dean Rosling was 1-2 and was hit by a pitch, he would score 2 runs as well for Plumas. Lincoln Murray was 2-3 with a single, double and an RBI as Neepawa's top hitter.
Plumas is off the finals for the 3rd year straight. It will be a rematch of 2022 or 2023 finals as they wait for the winner of the Portage and Minnedosa Series. Portage won the title over Plumas in 2022, and Plumas defeated Minnedosa last year to win the league. Game 3 goes Wednesday night in Portage. The Finals will get started this Friday, location to be determined!
