Padres dominate Mavs - FINALS BOUND

And then there were two. The Portage Padres have punched their ticket to the SCBL finals with an 11-2 win over Minnedosa to win the best of 3 semi final 2 games to one. They will now host the Plumas Pirates in the best of 5 finals.
In Portage, on a cool and windy night the Padres were red hot all night. They piled up 16 hits and scored in 5 innings. They scored one in the first on a Riley Borody single which scored Tanner Boyle, after he doubled to center. The Mavericks would even the score in the top of the 2nd courtesy of a John Hutton Homerun. That would be as close as they would get. The Padres scored 2 more in the 2nd, and 5 in the 3rd to put the game out of reach. The Mavericks would threaten a few times, but only would score one more run in the 4th. Padres scored 2 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th to make the final 11-2.
Tyler Olson was your winning pitcher throwing 6 innings, he gave up 9 hits and 2 runs, he struck out 6. Devin Foord took the loss for Minnedosa (his first of the season) throwing 3 innings, giving up 8 runs, 4 earned, on 9 hits, he struck out 2.
Offensively, Jace Boychuk went 4-4 to lead the way. Tanner Jago hit a 2 run homerun, and teammate Tanner Boyle went 3-4 with 3 rbi to help the cause.MVP Daylan Laramee went 3-3 to round out the top Portage hitters.
Minnedosa had 9 hits, including 2 hit nights from John Hutton, Andrew Richards, and Victor Lamb.John Hutton drove in both of the Minnedosa runs.
