Royals end up 3rd at Provincials

Posted August 2, 2010

The Royals ended up in 3rd place this past weekend at the Senior AA Provincial Championship in Regina.  They lost their first game 2-1 to Holdfast and then defeated Lloydminster 13-3 with Braden Bauml and Bret Yarskie both throwing very good complete games.  The Royals then defeated Regina 14-6 behind a solid outing from Coiln Bauml and Mathew Strueby to advance to the semi final against the league rival Saskatoon Outlaws.  The Royals could not muster up enough offense as they were downed by the eventual champs from Saskatoon by a score of 8-2.  Russ Nielson, Paul Strueby, and Mathew Strueby did the pitching in this game and all pitched good.  It was a very solid weekend of ball played by the boys but at the same time very disappointing as the goal was to win the whole thing.  Good weekend boys!  Next action for the Royals is Tueday @ 6:30pm against the Guns.
