The Vance - Granville Warriors Basketball organization was founded in February 2013 by Coach DeMarcus Oliver. Our program is based out of Vance and Granville counties, North Carolina with players currently from Henderson, Oxford and Warrenton, North Carolina.

Our mission is to develop and mentor young men into prosperous student athletes by teaching the fundamentals of basketball, teamwork, and sportsmanship all while empowering them to greatness in all aspects of life.

FOUNDER'S BIO

DeMarcus Q. Oliver was born and raised in Oxford, NC and was a Graduate of JF Webb High School in the class of 1999. He now currently works with Granville County Schools at JF Webb High School where he happily serves as the Dean of Students. DeMarcus is also Head Boys Basketball coach at Mary Potter Middle School.

DeMarcus Oliver is the Founder, Executive Director, and also Head Basketball Coach of the Vance Granville Warriors AAU Basketball Club, which is an organization he established in 2012 with 1 team and 8 local kids. As of now in 2015 the Vance Granville Warriors currently consist of 3 teams (11u Boys, 14u Girls, & 17u Boys) and 32 total kids.

He is also an Independent Insurance Agent in the State of North Carolina where he has been licensed as a Life, Health, & Medicare Supplement Insurance representative since May 2007.

In addition, DeMarcus Oliver and his family have been members of New Jerusalem Church in Wendell, NC since 2007 where he has also served years as a Leader in the Youth Department, Dance Ministry of Mime, and Secretary of Usher Board.

DeMarcus is a husband and father of four boys. He enjoys spending time with his family, raising his young men to become men, being a leader and mentoring youth, traveling, and of course teaching, coaching, and even playing basketball.
