A-Team Falls to Hickman County & East Hickman

Repeat performances were what the Lady Wildcats had for their matches against Hickman County and East Hickman. On Monday, September 13 Waverly hosted the Hickman County Lady Bulldogs. The first two sets were close as both were won by the minimum 2-point difference. The Lady Bulldogs took the first set 25-23 and the Lady Wildcats took the second set 26-24. The third set looked as if it might be the same as both teams were battling for the match win.Tthe Lady Bulldogs served first in the third set and got on the board first. The Lady Wildcats were in catch-up mode from the beginning of the set but they kept the score very close never falling behind more than 3 points. At the end of the set, with the score 12-10 in favor of Hickman County, the Lady Bulldogs had a 3-point run leading them to take the win.
The same scenario happened for the Lady Wildcats on Thursday, September 16 when they hosted the East Hickman Lady Eagles. The first set was won by the visiting Lady Eagles 25-19. The Lady Wildcats came back in the second set and took the win 25-23. But the third and deciding set went to the Lady Eagles 15-6.
The Lady Wildcats will finish out the regular season this week with conference tournament taking place on Saturday, September 25 and will be held at Fairview Middle School.
