Good Season Ends with a Whimper
Posted April 03, 2016
It was easy to expect that the A team would come into last Sunday's game very let down, given that they came less than 2 minutes and one bad bounce from going to the City Finals AND Provincials. And, in fact, it was clear from the outset that the team's heart was not in this one....
OH SO CLOSE! Bandits Lose 3-2 Heart-Breaker
Posted March 27, 2016
The way things had played out, all the Bandits needed to do to go to the City Final AND earn a berth at provincials was to tie or win. But we were facing the #1 team in Oakridge....
Three by Four for 5-1 Playoff Win

Sometimes, numbers don't pan out. Going into last night's first playoff tilt, Bandits A had lost 3 straight; they also hadn't won any game convincingly since the season's opening two games, when they won 6-1 and 5-2; and they hadn't beaten the Bandits C team all season ...
A-Team Stumbles Into Playoffs
Posted March 15, 2016
It's often said that the playoffs begin a brand new season, and this is now what the A team must hope for as it lost its third consecutive game, this time 4-2 to Oakridge, to close out the regular season....
Team Flat in 4-1 Loss
Posted March 01, 2016
Even great teams seem to eventually have a real stinker of a game. The A team can't yet be called a great team, though the potential for great things definitely seems there. But they definitely weren'tat their best on Sunday, losing 4-1 in a game they never really seemed to get into. Ex...
Timekeeper Kept Busy in 6-5 Loss
Posted February 24, 2016
You know you're watching a free-wheeling brand of hockey when there is a goal for AND a goal against on the same shift. In this game, this happened TWICE. There also were four goals scored in the last five or so minutes. It was almost like the football saying: the last team with the ball will wi...
A Team Wins 2nd Straight, 3-1
Posted February 15, 2016
What was new was that Bandits A, which had six ties in their previous 8 games (1-1-6), finally had back-to-back wins for the first time since the first two games of the season, upping their season record to 6-4-7 and, at least temporarily - pending the outcome of the week's other two games,...
It Wasn

Rarely does a team have both the fewest wins AND fewest losses 16 games into a season. The A team doesn't either... but they're close, 2nd last to only the winless D team in wins with 5, but also tied for the fewest loses with 4, thanks to 7 ties in 16 tries. ...
Fit to Be Tied... Again!
Posted February 01, 2016
Another game! Another 2-2 tie! Another (consecutive) game in which the opposition's second goal likely shouldn't have counted! Last week, the puck slid UNDER an elevated post. This week, goalie interference, in the paint, seemed pretty obvious to everyone but the two referees! Oh well!...
Goal-tending Keys Another 2-2 Tie
Posted January 26, 2016
It's too bad Kyle couldn't stop pucks that go under the net! For that, in truth, is what it took for a very determined Bandits C team to score the second of just two goals they scored on 25 shots. Literally, the puck slid under the side of a net that was raised up on its peg, a detail that w...
