2016 season

          Well we are about two weeks into the 2016 season, and I would have to say the crookston Reds have two things going for them so far. They look to be very deep and they look like they have had some solid pitching. To me the games I have attended Moorhead & Ada it appears that the bats havent come around yet, although they had a nice outburst against Ada last night i am not so sure they can bring that to the table every night. when they go to Warroad Saturday i guess will be the ultimate test to see how consistant this team will be heading into the end of the first month. The pitching has been better then what i was thinking looking at a prelim roster to start the year. Hollcraft is everything we knew he could be and Lars Brevik is as advertised. Lars and Landman are great off season pickups for the Reds which will add much needed depth to the defence, They also have a couple new faces that look real promising with The Zimmerman boy and Scotty Mortenson. The defence is what has concerned me the most. It goes with out saying there have been a couple highlight reel plays already this summer, but it also seems like the Fans are watching a really good team take a pitch/play off every once in a while which is creating oportunity for the oppent to score. I think that it is to early in this season to say how good or bad the Reds will be this summer and i am telling you if you havent watched them play this summer yet the record is no indication of how good or how much talent this team has. Lets give it two more weeks and i will check back in on here and see how or where the Reds stand at that point. Having said all that good luck to the Reds tomorrow in Warroad and see you all Sunday at the Karn.
