KHS Varsity Girls are Track District Champs! (for 2nd year in a row!) Many KHS track athletes are Area Qualifiers!

KHS Varsity Girls' Team won the District 15-6A Championships held at Stratford HS April 11-13, 2017! Many athletes contributed to this outstanding win & the KHS girls scored in 16 of 18 events to beat out Klein Collins by 1 point! ! Real team effort! The following athletes have qualified for the Area Meet:
Jo'Nae Malbrough--400m 1st place--DISTRICT CHAMPION!
4 x 400m relay--1st place DISTRICT CHAMPS (Dania Guidry, Jo'Nae Malbrough, Kayla Watson, Nkemdi Mbonu)
Alize Phillips--shot put 1st place--DISTRICT CHAMPION!
Heavens Angel--shot put 2nd place; discus 1st place--DISTRICT CHAMPION!
Samaj' Hodges--shot put 3rd place; discus 2nd place
Elena Myers--triple jump 3rd place
Kennedy Smith--high jump 3rd place
Nkemdi Mbonu--200m 3rd place
Emily Cole--800m 3rd place
Kayla Watson--300m hurdles 3rd place; 100m hurdles 4th place
4 x 100m relay--2nd place (Asahele Benford, Jo'Nae Malbrough, Mercedes Young, Nkemdi Mbonu)
KHS Varsity Boys placed 3rd as a team in the District & had many Area Qualifiers as well:
