Mixed Results for the SW Jets
Posted December 5, 2022
The SW Jets had a pair of games this past weekend and saw mixed results. Their weekend started off with a road trip to La Broquerie to face the Blizzard. It was a tale of two teams with different compete levels with the Blizzard coming out hungry and the Jets caught flat-footed early and often. The Blizzard put one on the board quick which turned out to be all they needed as they defeated the Jets by a score of 4-0.
Saturday saw the Jets venture back out to Holland to face the Rockets for the last time in the regular season. The tension that carried over from last week’s game could be felt early on and came to a boil early on in this one with a pushing match taking place after the whistle. As a result a Rocket was ejected from the game. Things calmed down and got back to hockey and the Jets were able to put a few goals on the board to give them a lead. After the Jets got a lead tempers flared again in front of the Jets bench which resulted in a full penalty box for each team, and also a player from each side ejected. When the dust settled the Jets walked away with a 7-1 victory.
The Jets hit the practice ice this week in preparation for a huge weekend against a couple of teams that are right with the Jets in the standings. First up on Saturday they head to Steinbach for a rematch against the Blizzard and then host the Pembina Valley Flyers Sunday afternoon.
