Congratulations to the 2021 Mudhen Invitational Tournament champion St Louis Park Rail Cats. En route to the title they dispensed with Hutchinson 18-1 in their tournamnet opener. Then a masterful pitching performance by Stefano Giovennelli shut down Marshall 6-0 setting up a championship match against another tourney first timer Millard Black. In the final game of the tournament, a four run rally in the top of the 5th by the Rail Cats erased a 3-1 deficit against the Sox from Nebraska. But the Millard Black put together a rally of their own in the bottom of the 7th to send the game into extra innings. St Louis Park then put together another rally scoring four runs off of three different pitchers to take the title by a 10-6 score.
Big thanks are extended to all those who kept the tournament running smoothly despite some difficult weather conditions during Saturday's games.
Evan, Michelle, and Bryan for their work on scoreboard and PA.
Gunner and all the BOLD players on field prep.
Trish and the whole concession stand crew who also did a great lob keeping the area cleaned up.
The junior legion players who manned the gate for us.
The BOLD 11U travel team (with help from some of their parents) who served as ball shaggers all weekend.
