Supers Hang on to Beat Grandview
Posted June 6, 2018
The Supers were scheduled to have home games on Friday June 1st and Saturday June 2nd against the Back Forty Brewers and Grandview Lakers, but unfortunately both were rained out. With the Lakers set to play in Yorkton on Sunday June 3rd against the Yorkton Yankees at 2 PM, it was agreed that the Supers would play the Lakers in Yorkton at 5PM. It was a decision the Supers would not regret as the Supers held on for a 6-4 victory.
Kholton Shewchuk would go the distance on the mound allowing five hits, five walks, four runs (two earned) on eleven strikeouts to get the win. With a 6-2 lead going into the top of seven, Shewchuk would get the first two outs of the inning. But a furious two out rally would net the Lakers two runs and the bases loaded before Shewchuk would record the final out via a strikeout to get out of a pickle.
Offensively the Supers recorded six runs on seven hits and seven walks. Sean Kolodziejski and Shewchuk each had two hits to lead the way. Evan Rostotski blasted a triple, while Clint Maduck and Dylan Toffan each had a single. The Supers scored several runs on wild pitches to take advantage of their opportunities.
With the win the Supers improve their record to 4-3 on the season. Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday, June 13 in Langenburg vs the Legends. Game time is scheduled for 6:15 PM
