Posted June 17, 2018
On Wednesday June 13 the Supers were in Langenburg to face the undefeated Legends. As always the Supers and the Legends had a game that came down to the last pitch as the Supers stranded the bases loaded in the seventh to fall 4-2.
Kholton Shewchuk got the nod on the hill for the Supers and was able to throw 86 pitches in five innings of work, allowing five hits and four runs (one earned) with three strikeouts to eventually take the loss. Dylan Toffan pitched a scoreless sixth.
The Legends scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth after an error and some timely hitting to give them a cushion. The Supers made another last inning rally but with bases loaded and two outs Legends pitcher Evan Markham forced a pop out to the catcher to end the game.
The Supers had nine hits, three apiece from Dylan Toffan and Ron Sopko. Jett Stechyshyn, Clint Maduck and Shewchuk each had one hit.
No matter when these teams meet it always comes down to the last inning or a key play. The fans in Langenburg were treated to a great game.
The Supers record fell to 4-4 after the loss
