Pitchers duel in Plato
Posted May 23, 2024
We had ourselves a pitchers duel in Plato last night
Casey Clemensen of the Hollanders and Drew Hedke of Plato went toe to toe all night. Both pitchers kept the bats cold and worked numerous quick and efficient innings.
Casey Clemensen tossed 7 scoreless innings, scattering only 3 hits while walking 2 and striking out 4. Hedke threw 8 scoreless while striking out 11, walking 1 and giving up 4 hits.
The only scoring came in the 8th. Plato led off the inning with a walk followed up by a sacrifice bunt. With 2 outs, a sharply hit grounder was snagged on a diving stop by David Solfelt at 3rd. The throw was a little wide and pulled the 1st basemen off the bag. The runner at 2nd never stopped running and just slid under a tag at home to score the only run of the game. Heck of a battle by both teams.
Offensively, the Hollanders were led by Tanner Luebke who went 3-4 at the plate. Carter Clemensen had the only other hit for Cologne.
"What's Up Brother
" Hollander player if the game. Casey Clemensen for his great performance on the bump.

We are off until Memorial Day when we head to Norwood for a 6:00pm matchup.
