Saraland Invite wrap-up

BIG congratulations to the girls track team for their runner up finish out of 27 teams in the Saraland Invite this past weekend.  The girls dominated in the throws and in the distance events. Newcomer Grace George pulled an upset win in the javelin with a toss of 103 feet while Madison Wallace picked up a pair of wins in the shot put and the discus. Jade Dempsey finished runner up in the shotput while Jennifer Dolan and Maggie Jollit also scored in the javelin. Dolan also scored in the pole vault, and high jump.

On the track, Audrey Woodard recovered from her hard sprint workout to win the 2 mile as well as finish runner up in the 800 with teammate Grace Salmon also scoring in the 800.  Hannah Porr won the mile with a personal best of 5:45 and later on finished 4^th in the 2mile with teammate Catherine Weinakker finishing 5^th.

In the boys highlights, Wadsworth Pape and Shepherd Schmohl gave a 1 -2 punch in the pole vault with vauklts of 14ft and 13-6 from short runs in a head wind. Schmohl also finished third in the javelin with a toss of 144 feet! Josh  Sasser finished 4th in the mile running 4:39.
