Mounties, Red Eagles Game Suspended after 1 inning!

Posted June 16, 2012

Mother Nature was not very kind to the boys today with the skies opening up at the first pitch.  Both starting pitchers struggled with the conditions to the best of their ability but the weather was just too much for them to endure.

The Eagles put up two runs
with a couple of clutch hits with two outs.  In the bottom of the inning Hirakawa-Kao singled with two strikes, De Guzman and Wright both were hit by pitch to set the table for Sengara's grand slam homerun.  The Mounties were able to get the next two runners on but the Victoria defence managed to get the next 3 outs to keep the Mounties out of a big inning.

In the top of the 2nd after the first Victoria batter was struck by a pitch, both teams and the umpire agreed that the best course of action would be do stop the game for a half an hour and see if the weather was going to let up.  As was the forecast it did not.  The game was suspended after one inning with the Mounties leading 4 - 2.
