Mounties Play Uninspired Ball and Drop Two!

Posted June 17, 2012

The Vancouver Mounties had a tough day on Sunday.  In the first game they squandered many opportunities to put up runs and then after finally getting the lead late in the game they blew a 3 run lead in the top of the 7th against the Victoria Black Eagles.

The Mounties once again missed an opportunity to win the game with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th inning and with 1 out were unable to put the ball into play.  Victoria Black put up another 2 runs in the top of the 8th.  In the bottom of the 8th the Mounties had the tying run at the plate and the Black Eagle right fielder made a great catch at the fence to seal the deal and end the game.  Final score Black Eagles 8 Mounties 6

In the 2nd game the Mounties played uninspired ball and the fired up Tri City Indians came out and spanked them.  The game was called due to darkness after 6 innings with the score 8 - 2 for the Indians when the lights did not come on.  Even if the lights were programed to come on the Mounties were the 3rd best team on the field today and it would have been very unlikely that they could have come back against the very motivated Tri City team.
