DESCRIPTION:It seems there were a bit of nerves starting our first game. T
he Flames were able to record the first shot\, at the 3 minutes mark\, res
ulting in the opening goal. The Flames got some energy from this\, bringi
ng the ball back into our end\, recording a couple of more on our net\, b
efore our defense was able to clear the ball down field. Marcus took our
first corner\, setting up Daniel for our first shot on their net at the 18
minute mark. The first foul would would be drawn by Jonathan at the 21
minute mark. Our first foul was made by Andrew at the 30 minute mark. Th
e second half was mostly our half\, but we were unable to beat the Flames
keeper. We had several great chances\, including a fabulous header from
Isaac off a corner kick. A difficult missed handball\, which would have le
t us tie the game. Overall\, a decent effort.

DESCRIPTION:Great game today. The team really stepped up and played with he
art and commitment. The Torrent played a tough game with a physical presen
ce\, but our boys didn&#039\;t back down at all.\n\nThe Torrent would open
the scoring at the 8 minute mark after attempting their first corner kick
. We would get our own corner kick 11 minutes in and get a fantastic oppor
tunity\, but put the ball wide. James came into the game and made a strong
run up the middle\, getting our 2nd shot on net\, but the keeper was able
to hang on. At the 24 minute mark\, the Torrent would record the first fo
ul of the game\, which set the tone for how they intended to play us\, phy
ical and fast. All in all\, the Torrent would record 5 fouls\, including o
ne in the Penalty area and a register a Yellow Card.\n\nIsaac would bring
us to even with a fantastic goal\, from a smooth feed off Marcus&#039\;s p
ass\, at the 40 minute mark\, a crossing shot which would hit the crossbar
and skim into the back of the net. In the 2nd half Marcus took the ball h
ard into the Torrent 18 yard box\, drawing a penalty. Jack would step up a
nd score a hard low direct shot on the penalty kick\, giving us the lead.
The Torrent continued their kick and run game\, trying to spring their tw
o wingers\, but our man marked defense didn&#039\;t let them through.\n\nD
aniel put the icing on the cake with a great end run with an assist from B
en\, to score the 3rd and final goal at the 79 minute mark.\n\nA great win
for a team that worked hard for 80 minutes.\n\nPOG. The player of the gam
e was awarded to Isaac. Scoring our first goal\, and in such a beautiful
manner\, set the tone for the game. Isaac was tireless and late in the gam
e when we needed to keep the pressure on\, he ran down the Torrent&#039\;s
defense\, making it hard for them to mount a comeback.\n\nRunner up for t
he POG was Luke. He certainly kept us in the game\, with some key saves.
He came out and challenged when needed\, and stood tall against the 10 Tor
 rent shots today.

DESCRIPTION:The game started tentative\, but physical. Andrew caused a foul
at the 4 minute mark as we tried to set the tone. The game was choppy wi
thout much flow. Isaac would record our first shot at the 9 minute mark\,
but the Rockets would get theirs at the 11 minute mark. Marcus and Ben wer
e dominant in the midfield with strong control and body position\, setting
up several crosses. Spencer would get three shots which gave us golden op
portunities to score\, but we couldn&#039\;t finish. Late in the first hal
f\, Jack would try a bicycle kick\, which would have been a fantastic goal
\, but the half would end at zeros.\n\nThe second half showed us settling
down and controlling the flow of the game. There were better runs and pas
ses as well as reads on the ball. We would get several good chances\, one
off a penalty\, where Spencer set the ball up with a strong volley. But
it wasn&#039\;t until the 72nd minute when a goal would be scored. Jack w
ould take the ball deep into the Rockets end\, with a chance himself\, but
it would be Daniel\, coming in from the holding midfield position to fini
sh the ball into the back of the net. We would get another chance on the
ensuing kick-off\, we would steal the ball and get a corner\, but the ball
wouldn&#039\;t find the net. Jonathan was robbed in a questionable offsid
e call. But the Rockets would get some help at the 78 minute mark\, and ge
t the equalizer after a missed offside call.\n\nPOG. The player of the gam
e was awarded to Daniel. He had a strong game working well in the attacki
ng midfield\, and getting into the play. He had several key runs\, and sco
red our goal with a smart heads up play and strong finish.

DESCRIPTION:We started the half\, in possession and taking the game to the
Strikers\, hard. Lucas would record the first shot on net at the 2 minute
mark\, and we would keep the pressure on. Jordan\, playing left wing woul
d stick into his check\, given a strong foul at the 3 minute mark\, follow
ed by Andrew at the 4 minute mark. We were determine not to be pushed aro
und! The Strikers would come back and test Luc at the 7 minute mark\, but
the play was ours with Jordan and Isaac recording shots at the 7 and 8 min
ute mark. Spencer would have a strong run up the right wing\, with a grea
t cross\, and Jordan picked it out of the air to really test the Strikers
keeper. The game would go this way until the 20 minute mark\, when Daniel
would take a beautiful feed from Marcus to get the first goal of the game
.\n\nThat seemed to settle us down abit\, and we dominated play\, with Ben
scoring our 2nd at the 29 minute mark\, again from a feed off Marcus. Isa
ac and Jack would team up 5 minutes later\, with Jack making a strong run
through the middle\, and setting up Isaac for our 3rd goal.\n\nThe half wo
uld end a bit early\, as the ref was trying to make up some time from the
late start. \n\nThe second half started with us in control again\, but we
would get a bit sloppy\, and a little over confident. Despite that\, Jack
would score at the 51 minute mark with an unassisted solo effort. As tend
s to happen when the score is run up abit\, everyone wants to get a goal\,
and so it was that we lost a bit of focus\, and the Strikers would come b
ack and get one against us at the 54 minute mark. This seemed to wake us
up a bit\, and we came back on the attack\, but the Strikers were giving i
t to us as well. Our defense had to work a hard in the 2nd half turning a
way the attack. Marc seemed to be getting the most runs on his side\, an
d he was a beast\, never giving up and tackling players\, twice his size.
In order to rest our defenders\, Alsek\, stepped in and ran as sweeper. At
the 65 minute mark\, Marcus would go from the set up guy to the goal scor
er putting away a nice feed from Jordan. Two minutes later\, Isaac would g
et his second of the game\, with yet another assist going to Marcus. The S
trikers wouldn&#039\;t give up\, recording a couple of additional shots\,
but Lucas would get the final shot on net at the 77 minute mark.

DESCRIPTION:Tough game. We knew it was going to be a hard one\, the Wild ar
e at the top of the league and are running away with the position.\n\nWe h
ad a rough start of it\, with several players arriving late for warm up\,
a few sick or away\, and others who were battling fatigue.\n\nThe game did
not start well. Despite us getting the kick off\, the Wild would take ad
vantage of an early error and score in the first 30 seconds of the game. T
his dropped our shoulders and put us back on our heels for the entire firs
t half! We would get our first shot on the Wild goal 4 minutes later\, but
the North Van team would score at the 11 minute mark\, again after sloppy
play in our own end. We wouldn&#039\;t record another shot until Isaac go
t one at the 29 minute mark. But the Wild would get the final shot of the
half. \n\nAt the break\, we spoke about winning the 50/50 ball\, not givi
ng up free headers\, support / defending and working as a team. Playing wi
thout the ball\, is sometimes more important than playing with the ball.\n
\nThe second half was much better than the first. 13 minutes would run of
f the clock\, before the first shot was recorded by Jordan. Then Jonathan
would get a fine chance at the 57 minute mark\, but we couldn&#039\;t bea
t the Wild keeper. The Wild didn&#039\;t get a shot on us until the 59 min
ute mark\, a full 19 minutes into the 2nd half. We were working better as
a team and winning some of the challenges. Daniel and Jonathan would recor
d more shots at 67 and 70 minutes\, but again the Wild struck with a goal
at the 71 minute mark. We would not be shut out though\, at the end of tim
e\, Andrew would draw a foul and Marcus would make no mistake on the Penal
 ty Shot.\n

DESCRIPTION:Tough game today\, on many counts.\n\nOur 6th game of league pl
ay\, and we really needed a win. The lads were talking about playing this
team last year\, and it was a bit of foreshadowing of what was to come.\n
\nThe first half saw us get called for a foul in the first 4 minutes\, alt
hough a weak call\, it gave the United some life and they recorded their f
irst shot 3 minutes later. This led to a corner kick for Burnaby\, and two
more shots on goal. The game progressed and we would get three more foul
s called against us\, with none called against the United for the whole ha
lf! The United would find the back of our net at the 18 minute mark. All
told\, the Burnaby team would get 8 shots to our 4 in the first half.\n\nT
he second half was where things got out of hand. The ref allowed both team
s to take liberties and seemed reluctant to call penalties or issue cards.
As happens in these cases\, the rough play escalates to a boiling point\,
and tempers get the best of everyone. Despite this\, the United were give
n 3 fouls\, while we were given 3. We did get our chances\, with James get
ting three great opportunities late in the game\, but the United would get
a 2nd while we were pushing\, during extra time.

DESCRIPTION:Thanks to you 12 players available for today&#039\;s friendly w
ith the u17 Hooligans. And the parents who huddled under the cover of the
Boyd Club House to cheer us on!\n\nWe had worked on some set plays at tra
ining on Wednesday\, and this friendly gave us a great opportunity to test
them out.\n\nWe started the game with possession\, and three minutes in\,
Ben set up Jordan for our first goal. The shots would be fast and furious
with play being ours for quite some time\, but our next goal wouldn&#039\
;t come until the 28 minutes mark when James would convert a set volley pl
ay from Jonathan. James would get his second at the 39th minute from Andre
 w. The half would end with us up three\, and the Hooligans having limited
chances on our net.\n\nThe second half we came out strong\, with Jack reco
rding our first shot only 4 minutes in. Ben would get his first at 56 minu
tes after a pass from Andrew. James scored his third from a ball Jordan se
rved up at 66 minutes. Jonathan would score just 1 minute later off a stol
en ball. James again (his 4th) from Jordan at 71 minutes. Ben again from A
ndrew at 72 minutes. Alsek would be robbed by Luke (yes we switched our Ke
eper with the Hooligans&#039\; keeper part way through the half)\, but at
84 minutes Alsek would convert a ball from Davis.\n\nOur ref (Coach James
of the Hooligans) allowed 6 minutes of extra time\, in which the Hooligans
would get 1 goal\, with the Whistle being blown thereafter. So the score
was 9-1\, but only after we had moved our defenders to forwards\, our for
 wards to defenders\, and given the opposition\, our keeper!\n\nWe had 54 s
hots to their 10!\n\nOverall\, a good day\, with some success for our set
plays and new style. I cautioned the team not to get cocky\, but to take t
his win and build on it for next week.\n\nGoals:\n1 - Jordan @ 3 min\n4 -
  James @ 28 min\, 39 min\, 66 min\, 71 min\n2 - Ben @ 56 min\, 72 min\n1 -
  Jonathan @ 67 min\n1 - Alsek @ 84 min\n\nAssists:\nBen x 1\nJonathan x 1

DESCRIPTION:First Half\, Ben recorded the first of 13 fouls our team would
make at the 2 minute mark. The Flames would record 5 fouls. However it w
ould be 13 minutes before the first shot on net. Unfortunately\, it was t
he Flames. James would get our first shot at the 20 minute mark. All in
all\, we would record only 2 shots in the first half. The Flames would ge
t 5 shots and open the scoring at the 37 minute mark. It seems to be the
ir game plans\, kick and run from the back\, get a goal\, then play kick a
nd run from the backs\, the mid and the forwards.\n\nIn the second half\,
we were much better. We controlled the flow of the game\, but we were sti
ll second to most balls. Winning the 50/50 ball seems to be our nemesis.
Despite being better in the 2nd half\, we would get no shots\, and the ga
me would end with the Flames being the victor 1-0 again.

DESCRIPTION:Last nights game was interesting. Being on a Friday night\, we
were concerned about the energy the kids may have and whether they could b
e focused for the game.\n\nAlthough we won the toss and elected to start w
ith the ball\, it was the Rangers who would score first blood. In the fir
st minute! It was a great goal\, and a heck of a run\, but it was a menta
l breakdown on our part that allowed it. The boys didn&#039\;t fold and gi
ve up though. They rallied and Jordan would get our first shot on net 7 m
inutes later. This would lead to a second shot from James\, and a Mitchell
drawing a foul. Luke would come up and take the kick\, and Marcus would t
ake the volley with strong finish to tie it up.\n\nUnfortunately\, the Ran
gers would strike next and at the 14 minute mark would send a volley over
Luke\, who had come out to challenge\, despite Mitchell&#039\;s effort to
get to the ball\, the Rangers took the lead 2-1.\n\nWe encouraged the boys
to press more and be fast to the ball in the 2nd half. They were in good
spirits and ready to take it to the Rangers.\n\nJonathan would get a good
chance 1 minute into the 2nd half\, which led to a corner. However we were
unable to finish and the ball was cleared to centre. We brought the ball
back and pressed\, drawing fouls from the Rangers. Our sustained pressure
was wearing the Rangers down and they would take 9 fouls in the 2nd half.
We would be awarded a corner at the 50 minute mark\, and Daniel would tie
it up for us. In the 2nd half\, the Rangers would only get into our end t
wice and recorded no shots on our net. Despite this\, we were unable to ge
t the winner and the game would end in a tie.

DESCRIPTION:The boys were ready and geared up for this game\, and we record

mark. Despite us having several great chances\, hitting a cross bar and a
couple of key saves by the Flames keeper.\n\nIn the second half we carrie

DESCRIPTION:Well\, what can I say? Luck seems to be against us.\n\nThe boys
have been working hard at training the last couple of weeks\, and we intr
oduced a few new drills on Wednesday. They were ready for this game.\n\nWe
knew we were in for an interesting game as George was our ref. Although a
good ref\, with lots of seasons behind him\, he is very strict on rules.
We were lectured on the poor quality of our nets and the lack of corner fl
ags!\n\nAs the game begun\, we were nervous that only one bank of lights w
ere on\, while all the lights on the field under construction were on. We
immediately sent e-mails and text messages to Tania\, Doug Long\, David W
ebber\, and even Andrew Nazareth! A big thank you to Russell and Joyce w
ho were able to find the number for the Public Works department and had a
Tech sent out to look at the lights.\n\nThe first half was ours! We start
ed strong\, earning a corner kick in the first 30 seconds. This would lead
to a great cross from Marcus and a hard shot by Spencer. Andrew would sc
oop up the rebound and get our first goal. From there\, we stayed strong.
Keeping the ball in the Predators end for the entire first half\, other
than twice. Which was important as Luke&#039\;s end was quite dark. The
Predators were quite frustrated in the first half\, taking 5 fouls and ear
ning a yellow card. This is a testament to the pressure our boys were put
ting on them. From the first minute until the 31 minute mark\, we would r
ecord 12 shots while the Predators would get none. Unfortunately\, at the
31 minute mark\, they were able to get a corner after a long ball got beh
ind us. This was bad news as our half was almost in complete darkness at
this point. George even stopped the game to tell his two A/R&#039\;s to
watch for the ball as he couldn&#039\;t see it! We cleared the first corn
er\, but they got another. The Predators would get a lucky goal here\, as
they crossed the ball into the group of players\, and somehow in the dark\
, the ball would dribble through\, hit the post and bounce in over Luke wh
o saw it at the last minute and dove to stop it. Jack recorded our last sh
ot on net at the end of the first half.\n\nWe would end with 13 shots\, an
d the predators had 2. We greatly outplayed the Predators\, and would hav
e recorded a good win.\n\nGeorge stopped the game while the Tech worked on
restoring the lights. After 10 minutes it was clear he could not fix it.
  So George cancelled the game.\n

DESCRIPTION:With each week that passess\, we are seeing much improvement wi
th our club. In yesterdays game we saw a bit of everything we have been w
orking on. Great saves\, fantastic passing\, some good chips and runs as
well as some strong tackles.\n\nFirst Half Recap:\nThe attitude during war
m up was great\, the lads were loose and in good spirits. There was talk a
bout how we were ready and going for the win today. A good sign. It was
the Torrent who would record the first shot on goal\, at the 1 minute mar
k they were awarded a corner (their first of 5 they would get in the game)
. We defended the corner well\, with Luke making the save and clearing th
e ball. We took the ball hard into their end\, and in the next five minut
es dominated play\, in fact Spencer drew two fouls\, which eventually set
up our first corner at the 8 minute mark. The Torrent defenders were stro
ng\, and we didn&#039\;t get our first shot until 14 minute in\, when Jame
s would rattle one off the edge of the net. Lucas had a couple of great ru
ns up the middle\, from two nice chip feeds. He would record the first rea
l test on the Torrent keeper at the 21 minute mark. We would get called f
or offside 5 times in the first half. I think our AR was a little too fla
g happy\, but it showed how eager our boys were to get a chance on net. Lu
ke was playing like a sweeper quite a bit\, coming out (sometimes almost t
o half) to help clear away the 'kick and run' ball the Torrent were playin
 g. The half would end with us getting a corner\, and with both Spencer an
d Marcus on the bench\, Ben would lay up a beautiful cross to get us a las
t chance.\n\nSecond Half:\n\nThe second half was mostly our game. Spencer
recorded the first shot at 55 minutes\, then again moments later. The T
orrent would get only two really good shots on our net\, but Luke was tall
and strong. Then at the 64 minute mark\, the Torrent would try their kic
k and run ball\, which got behind the defenders\, and Luke charged out to
clear...the Torrent striker was just a bit too quick\, and was able to ste
al Lukes clear attempt. Davis battled for the ball\, and the Torrent stri
ker got off a shot. Luke\, thinking quickly\, dove and batted it out of t
he air\, making the save\, but earning a yellow card for a handball outsid
e the box. The Torrent would get an indirect kick\, about 30 yards out\,
and our defenders were able to clear their attempt. Disaster averted. Jor
dan got a good chance to take the game when he had a shot at 73 minutes\,
and James had a glorious chance at 85 minutes but he couldn&#039\;t quite
thread the needle and it bounced off the side.\n\nFinal score : 0-0.\n\nPl
ayer of the Game: The POG was awarded to Andrew. Andrew had a very strong
game\, working hard on all his shifts. He was very physical\, yet didn&#0
39\;t record a foul all game. He made several key checks and run downs. H
e made a number of passes and set up several of our shots. Well done.

DESCRIPTION:Well\, what can I say? Another game where we were dominant and
deserved a better outcome. Our boys would control the play for much of the
game\, and would outshoot the Strikers 21 to 10\, but we just couldn&#039
\;t get that winner (despite the fact that we think we did).\n\nWe started
without the ball\, but were able to win the first corner of the game at t
he 2 minute mark. Unfortunately\, there was no shot\, and the Strikers wo
uld come back to get their first corner 1 minute later. The first shot on
goal would come from Marcus at the 11 minute mark. The Strikers would open
the scoring at the 19 minute mark after a yellow card was given to Josh (
not sure why?)\, and there was a scramble in front of our net. It was one
of those ping pong ball goals\, where we had the opportunity to clear it t
hree times. The Strikers would get a 2nd goal at the 26 mark off a corner
kick. Before the half would end\, the Strikers would take two yellow card
s\, and we would get several more chances. Andrew would get our first goa
l with a hard knuckle shot from midfield at 38 minutes. \n\nThe second hal
f saw us start with the ball and earn a corner kick at 48 minutes. This w
ould lead to a great opportunity on net. Spencer was awarded a yellow card
at the 54 minute mark. James got a brilliant opportunity to score after
a strong run down the left wing. Isaac\, twice\, had golden opportunities
to put us ahead. Josh would go out with a nose bleed after heading the ba
ll away\, and Jonathan would leave the game with bruised ribs. Late in t
he half\, we thought we had scored as a flurry of shots on goal happened\,
and it appeared the goalie made the save from inside his net. We made th
e choice to go with 3 defenders and added another forward. Ben would tie t
he game from a long ball feed from Andrew at the 80 minute mark. The ref
indicted three minutes of extra time\, after Davis went down with a leg i
njury. Isaac had a glorious chance to beat the buzzer with a solid run and
strike\, but sent the ball high over the net.\n\nAll in all\, we would re
 cord 21 shots\, 10 corners\, score 2 goals and have 1 assist.\n\nThe Strik
ers took 11 fouls and 2 yellow cards to our 6 fouls and 2 yellow cards.
It was a rough game.\n\nPOG: The Player of the Game today was awarded to
Marc. Marc battled hard all game\, taking on bigger players and making s
everal very physical challenges. He was a strong contributor throughout t
he game\, sending our forwards on a few good runs.\n

DESCRIPTION:Tough game yesterday. We certainly felt that you deserved a bet
ter result than the score card showed. Considering we were short benched\,
playing our first game back\, against the 3rd place team and at 6 pm on a
Saturday night!\n\nFirst Half\; The game started pretty strong\, with bot
h teams getting early chances. The Storm would get the first shot at 3 min
utes in. Daniel would record our first shot at 8 minutes. Both keepers kep
t the ball out. It quickly became apparent the Storm played a kick and run
game\, relying on their fast forwards to beat flat footed defenders. Our
back line was up to the task with both Josh and Davis playing as double st
opper and sweepers. The half would end with zeros on the board. Shots in t
he first half came from Daniel\, Isaac\, and Jordan. We drew one foul and
made three. \n\nSecond Half\; The Storm came out fast\, getting the first
corner of the half at 48 minutes\, but we would get the first chance at 50
minutes with long volly from Spencer. The Storm opened the scoring when t
heir big forward would bull his way through the defenders at 55 minutes.
This gave the Storm new life as they recorded the next 5 shots until James
took a yellow card at 63 minutes. (A weak card in my opinion). We pushed
back hard after that\, getting the ball deep into the Storm&#039\;s end\,
forcing them to continuously kick the ball out of play (the ref told us he
would give us extra minutes)\, but the game would end with us pressing at
81 minutes. Despite our push in the 2nd half\, we recorded only 1 shot on
  the Storm&#039\;s net!\n

pline\, and we had a 4th official on the field. Even Coach Dusko (now Ref
Dusko) was out to cheer us on!\n\nFirst Half:\n\nWe started with the ball
\, and decided to set the tone ourselves. It did take 6 minutes before a s
hot was recorded. Jordan got the first shot on net\, at 6 minutes and Andr
ew would make the first foul a minute later. The United came back and got
their first shot at 8 minutes\, but Luke was up to the task. At 10 minute
s\, Ben dropped a nice corner kick\, where Daniel got a strong shot off.
The United got two corners at 10 minutes which conveyed into two shots\, b
ut again Luke made the saves\, one an outstanding dive to keep it out.. T
he for next 16 minutes the game was played through the middle of the field
\, with Lucas recording our next shot at the 26 minute mark. The half wou
ld end with Luke making another save just before the whistle. \n\nSecond H
alf:\n\nWe had our chances\, and many of them. The half would start with b
oth teams trading corners\, but the first shot was Jordan&#039\;s at 59 mi
nutes. We would earn another corner at 61 minutes and both Ben and James
would get shots off. Jack got off a couple of shots at minute 65\, but the
United&#039\;s Keeper was up to the task. The United got their first chan
ce at 67 minutes. From then on it was our play that dominated. We had cha
nces...Ben on a semi break-away\, James with a strong run. Lucas with two
shots at 78 minutes. Jack with two shots at 82 minutes\, Daniel with two a
t 83 minutes. Two corners at 84 minutes\, we just couldn&#039\;t get that
finish. Then\, completely against the play\, the United would put the dag
ger in our hopes\, at the 89 minute mark\, after a kick and run play and a
scramble in front of our net\, they got the only goal of the game. \n\nFi
nal Score: Razorbacks - 0\, United -1\n\nPOG: The Player of the game was a
warded to Daniel. He was our utility player today. Daniel filled in as swe
eper\, and as a wing back when our defence needed a rest. He played midfie
ld and wing as well. He recorded three shots on net and a total of 54 minu
 tes played. Well done Daniel.\n

DESCRIPTION:Tough game today. I overheard one of our players say (when we w
ere down 2-0)\, that we shouldn&#039\;t know what place our opponents are
in\, we can&#039\;t seem to play well when we know. Knowing isn&#039\;t th
e problem\, its what we do with that knowledge that is. Today we did not
elevate our game as a team.\n\nFirst Half:\n\nThe game started with both t
eams feeling each others strengths and weaknesses. It became apparent very
quickly that the Burnaby team engaged a kick and run style\, and really h
ad only one strong player (#14 - more on him later). The first 6 minutes w
ent by fair evenly. Neither team testing the net\, and we were moving the
ball quite well. The first foul came at 7 minutes from Markus\, a weak cal
l\, which would seems to have set the tone for more calls to come. A minut
es later\, Burnaby #14 would run through half our team and get the first g
oal at 8 minutes. Disappointing\, but there was still lots of game ahead.
Jordan would get our first shot on net at the 11 minute mark\, but it was
the Burnaby team who got the next goal at 15 minutes. After a scramble in
front\, and a directed handball in our 18\, they would make the score 2-0
(The ref missed the Burnaby handball). During the next 22 minutes we would
go offside 5 times! We also recorded 8 shots on goal\, to Burnaby&#039\;s
  0. Despite this push\, the half ended with us down by 2.\n\nSecond Half:
\n\nThe second half\, Burnaby came out strong\, getting the first shot at
48 minutes. But they would foul Jack in the Box\, getting us a Penalty Sho
t\, which Ben put away at the 50 minute mark. This gave us some life and
over the next 24 minutes\, we would get four more chances to score. We wen
t to a 3 man defensive line early\, electing to push up more forwards at t
he 60 minute mark. This seemed to work\, as Jack got us to within 1 goal a
t the 72 minute after he finished with a great run and shot. Unfortunate
ly\, the Burnaby team would take the ensuing kickoff and (#14) would run p
ast our forwards\, midfields and defenders and give Burnaby a 2 goal cushi
on again. This was the most frustrating time of the game for coaches\, pl
ayers and probably parents as well. Although there was time left\, we had
lost our heart for the game and couldn&#039\;t mount a comeback.\n\nPOG: T
he player of the game was given to Mitchell\, who was in beast mode most o
f the game. He made several strong tackles\, decisive runs and clearings.
Despite being exhausted late in the game\, he stuck it out and worked as
hard as he could to stop Burnaby&#039\;s attack. He showed true leadershi
p after the game as well as I saw him encouraging several players who were
disappointed with their play. Well done Mitchell.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:First off\, I want to express my gratitude to the 12 players wh
o committed to our team for today&#039\;s Cup game. Our boys worked their
butt off and we saw a great game of soccer.\n\nBig thank you to Luke who m
issed his Volleyball game today as well. He was needed and made a differe
 nce on the field.\n\nFirst Half: \n\nFor the 2nd game in a row\, Jordan g
ot off our first shot of the game\, 1 minute in. The Fury would come back
and get theirs at 3 minutes\, but both goalies were solid. Jonathan took t
he first foul of the game (&#039\;7)\, which allowed us to set up and get
control of the ball. Issac would take the ball deep into the corner and cr
oss the ball\, Jordan fond the cross and 'bar-down' scored the 1st goal at
the 9 minute mark. The Fury did not give up. They stuck to their kick and
run\, earning a corner kick at the 13 minute mark. Despite us clearing th
e ball\, they would come back hard and tie it up at the 15 minute mark. Th
e next 25 minutes saw some back and forth play. The Fury would kick it dee
p\, we would defend and carry the ball back out\, they would kick it in...
and so it went. Jordan\, Jonathan and Markus would all get shots on net\,
but the half would end at 1-1.\n\nHalf time we spoke about work ethic\, ge
tting to the ball first\, making crisp angle passes and using the breadth
of the field. Master Coach Bradford focused on some specific tactics and
 gave a rousing pep-talk. We were ready for the 2nd half!\n\nSecond Half:\n
\nWe started by earning a corner kick at 47 minutes. And Markus would sail
a smart cross where Josh would head it just over the bar. Andrew would dr
aw a foul at 48 minutes\, and Jordan earned his 2nd of the game as he fini
shed a great set up by Ben. For the next 20 minutes we turned back the kic
k and run\, and saw shots from Ben\, Isaac\, Marcus and Andrew. The boys w
ere battered\, bruised and exhausted at the end\, but they held on for the
victory!\n\nFinal: Razorbacks 2 - Fury -1\n\nPOG: Player of the Game was
awarded to Jordan. Jordan scored both goals today. He could have had 4\,
being in the right spot when he was suppose to be. He made several key pla
ys and used great field sense in opening up the field. He play a full 80 m
inutes and end with 8 shots (4 of which were on goal). Well Done Jordan.\n

DESCRIPTION:First Half:\n\nWell\, not the start we wanted. The Wild scored
on their first shot of the game\, 1.22 in. They would score again at the
24 minute mark off a corner kick and a bit of a scramble in front of the n
et. Our first shot came from Jonathan at the 29 minute mark. At the 40 min
ute mark\, Andrew was robbed of a sure goal when the ball was crossed from
the touch line and the goalie made a blind luck diving save off of Andrew
&#039\;s low shot.\n\nSecond Half:\n\nWe came out strong and dominated the
play\, with our send balls and runs into the corners. James would bring u
s to within 1 with a great goal at the 48 minute mark (Tony assist). Unfor
tunately the Wild would pad their lead at 53 minutes when a hard shot woul
d get through Lukes hands. There were some rough play\, Isaac was thrown i
nto the concrete on the sidelines (no card issued - just a free kick - goo
d thing the bleachers had been removed!). Andrew took out a Wild player an
d James would launch another into the rear fence. The second half saw shot
s from James\, Ben\, Markus and Jordan\, but the Wild would get the last g
oal at the 74 minute mark.\n\nFinal 4-1\n\nThe score did not reflect the w
ay our boys played. With only 1 - 1/2 subs (Andrew played injured)\, our b
oys actually did quite well against the 1st place team.\n\nPOG: The Playe
r of the Game was James. James played striker for us\, and showed strong
leadership with his fast pace play\, physical presence and good finish. He
scored our only goal\, but could have had 3 more. Well Done James.\n

DESCRIPTION:First half:\n\nPlaying the Flames\, who have bested us every ti
me we faced them this season\, we were keen for a good start. We got it. J
onathan had the first shot 1 minute in\, which earned us a corner kick\, a
nd another chance off Davis&#039\;s shot. Jordan had shots at 5 minutes an
d 8 minutes. We earned another corner at 15 minutes\, but we were unable t
o convert. Isaac had a good chance at 21 minutes. But it was the Flames
who opened the scoring at 27 minutes using their tried and true late midf
ielder run though the middle. The Flames would get another at 33 minutes
off a set corner play.\n\nSecond half:\n\nIf the first half was the Flames
win\, the second half was ours by far. We came after them with a bit of
a vengeance. Despite recording only two shots\, Jack and Jordan\, we outp
layed them. Forcing the Flames to take four fouls and a Yellow Card. Unfor
tunately we were unable to finish and the game ended with another loss.

DESCRIPTION:First Half:\n\nWe won the toss\, and our captain (Mitchell) wis
ely chose the end without the sun. The sun was blinding in the opponents k
eepers eyes\, and we wanted the advantage! We earned a corner kick in the
first minute and Markus would lay a beautiful cross to a springing James\,
who headed the first goal of the game! A great start. We pressed back wi
th a hard push\, but were offside. The 99Rangers got their first shot at 5
minutes\, but Luke was standing tall. James was playing hard and was awar
ded the first foul of the game at 7 minutes in. Marcus would take our next
corner at 15 minutes\, and James set up Andrew for another goal at 16 min
utes. Markus would get his own goal at 18 minutes from a set up of Isaacs
. At 35 minutes Jack would finally get his 'bicycle kick' goal\, after a
nice corner kick from Lucas. The half would end after another good chance
from another Lucas corner kick.\n\nDuring the break we spoke to the boys
about keeping the pressure on and not protecting the lead.\n\nSecond Half:
\n\nThe 99Rangers came at us pretty hard\, and we seemed a little out of s
orts. We were off side at 48 minutes and the 99Rangers came back with the
first shot of the half. Again\, Luke was strong. James got our first sho
t at 59 minutes\, earning us another corner kick. We had several good chan
ces\, where we just shot wide or the ball was bounced away. It wasn&#039\
;t until the last minute of the game\, where James would get another great
feed from Daniel and bury the ball in the back of the net!\n\nFinal score
 : Razorbacks 5 - 99Rangers -0 \n\nGoal Scorers:\n1 minute - James\, from M
arcus\n16 minutes - Andrew from Marcus and James\n18 minutes - Markus from
  Isaac\n35 minutes - Jack from Lucas\n79 minutes - James from Daniel\n\nWe
ll done today boys. A great lead into tomorrow&#039\;s cup game.\n\nPOG:
The Player of the Game was awarded to Jack. He played over 60 minutes an
d was a force on the field. He had a goal and was instrumental in creatin
g chances and setting up his teammates. He was encouraging and helpful an
d lead by example on the field and on the bench. Well done Jack.\n
