Tampa Bay Patriots are having a fundraiser for the team this week at Raymond James Stadium home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!

We need your help! Volunteer and get in the game for free! We are looking for volunteers to help with traffic control for 4-5hrs. You will be released halfway through the first qtr and allowed to attend the remainder of the game for free.

Must wear Black pants, black shoes, Have ID and a black or white shirt!

This past Saturday we had an awesome cast of new and continuing talent participate in our first Tampa Bay Patriots adult minor league football combine! I'm looking forward to seeing the current and remaining potential Patriots talent at the "mandatory" combine/evaluation workout this Sunday 07/20/2014 @ 4:00 p.m. Sharp- remember that TIME is one of the most valuable privileges that I have left on earth, don't waste mine, my coaching staffs or your teammates by attempting to s...how up past the time that's been allocated for us to do what we need to do to get better.

If you came this past Saturday it is not mandatory for you to show up on Sunday, however, if you want to get some extra work in come out. Make sure that your fee of $35 is paid in advance or that you have the full amount with you when you show up or you will Not be able to participate.

I'm really excited about the direction that we're going in fellas! Get your thinking caps on, get rid of your egos and sense of entitlement, feel uneasy about your position because nothing is promised; everything is earned! We're setting a place for ALL of our hungry dogs that WANT to come in; put in work and eat to EAT! As most of you may know we have a non-profit adult minor league football team. What you don’t know is why we do it! Yes, partly because we love this game but more importantly how it helps our young adults and youth.
The Tampa Bay Patriots was formed in hopes to help young adults who have gone to college on Athletic Scholarships and for one reason or another was unable to stay in school academically or got home sick. We also bring out the athletes who want to go to college and have the athletic ability to do so, but does not have the academic standards. While keeping up their skills and going to a local college they are able to get football film and maintain academic excellence for scouts, Universities, Colleges, Jr. Colleges, etc.
In addition to the above my main goal is to reach out to underprivileged kids and help them fit in with their peers.
We have grown fond of the kids of The Police Athletic League of Tampa. This past year we were able to provide several volunteer coaches for their Inaugural football season. Raised money for their fields, donated uniforms, equipment, etc to the organization.
This past year with PAL has been very uplifting! We have kids, Hundreds of them from all different races, gender, social status, etc. It was so amazing to see these kids all work together and bond with one another.
To share one of my experiences. On the first day of practice I have these 2 young men who are very well mannered. They say Coach Gene may we have a word with you in private. I did and from that point my life changed. These two young men wanted to let me know that sometimes they will be late to practice, sometimes they will need a ride to the games, and sometimes not be able to make it at all. Before I could say why the older brother said coach we are homeless but we really want to play football like all the other boys. Homeless I asked, they said yes coach. It is just us and our mother, sometimes we have to leave the shelter and sleep in the car. My mom works really hard trying to save money so that we can get a house one day. We will not be able to pay but we promise we will give it our all. Words cannot express the emotions inside me on this day!
The next day I showed up to practice with 15 pairs of cleats and 2 large bags of clothes and needless to say everything was handed out. It turned out that we had a lot of children that had nothing and needed something. From that day forward I have done everything I could for the young athletes. I would pick up a van load for game day or practices throughout the week. Have them sleep over with my son go fishing, skating, airheads, monster truck jam, USF football games, Storm games etc.
It takes a lot of money to keep these programs going! I am asking you, my family, my friends, my friends friends, my facebook friends, The Tampa Bay Patriots, fans and family to help raise as much money as we can for this season. My goal is to have at least 70 scholarships for football this year. Again, we need your help! Spread the word. We can do advertising, sponsorships, and donations.

The Tampa Bay Patriots, inc. is a registered non-profit Minor League Football organization that is dedicated to providing exciting community events, as well as the growth and development of our local youth at the Police Athletic League. (P.A.L) P.A.L. provides affordable after school, summer and athletic opportunities to more than 500 Tampa Bay youth. P.A.L. has partnered with the Tampa Police Department to provide a safe, healthy environment for our community’s children and teens. P.A.L.’s partnership with the police department provides mentorship as well as safety and crime prevention programs. In addition, P.A.L. has partnered with the Tampa Bay Patriots and a number of community organizations to provide athletic, educational and recreational development. While P.A.L. serves a large number of youth, typically from low to moderate income households headed by a single parent, all children are welcome and encouraged to participate in our programs.

The biggest challenge of the PAL organization is the high cost of equipment and uniforms. The Tampa Bay Patriots provide volunteers (Coaches, etc,) mentors, equipment and money to help with uniforms.

In addition to our youth and community support The Tampa Bay Patriots will Donate 10% of all proceeds from advertising and Donations to the Disabled American Veterans. A gift to the DAV Charitable Service Trust makes a powerful statement of your compassion and gratitude for the sacrifices of our nation's disabled veterans.

The Tampa Bay Patriots football organization, its staff as well as its players understand image and brand are very important. The first goal of the Patriots is to always maintain a high quality business organization which uplifts the image of minor league football as a whole. The Patriots also feel the key to success is to establish a well disciplined team led by an organized and professional staff. Everyone under the Patriot umbrella will be committed to carrying themselves with an extremely high standard in regards to conduct. The Patriots will not tolerate anyone under this umbrella to tarnish the image of either the UFF or the Tampa Bay Patriots organization. In short we will bring to the Tampa Bay Community, quality, integrity, accountability, respect, community activism and a great product.

Congratulations to The Suncoast Cobras with their decisive 19-3 Victory over the Brookville Ballers in Brooksville last Saturday on a hot and Humid Afternoon. After their first meeting in The Cobra Pit where The Cobras fell short with a 14-6 Loss to the Ballers, The Cobras went up to Brooksville with the intent of taking over The Central Division and a victory of any measure would do just that. The Cobras Defense had a little different goal in mind though. After the Cobras Offense stalled out with costly penalties and turnovers on their 1st few possessions, Their defense bent just enough to allow the Ballers take a 3-0 Lead in the 1st quarter, but The Cobra D went into a lock down mode for the rest of the game, almost as if they knew exactly every offensive play the Ballers were going to run, shutting them out for the rest of the game. With the Cobras Defensive take aways and the Offense clicking towards the end of the half, The Cobras Offense kicked into another gear in the 2nd half and Cobras walked out of Brooksville with their heads held high as Division Leaders with a comeback win of 19-3 going into their last regular season game with a 7-2-0 record.

We will become fearless hard hitters, runners, blockers, tacklers, receivers and kickers! Each individual will give all that they have, each and every play! This team was built on a foundation with one value, that separates it from most other Adult Minor League teams, and that is family first, career (or school) second and football third. Our Goals, To allow players to develop the skills needed to advance to the next level and/or the ability to advance to the next level, while providing quality entertainment and community service for the Tampa Bay, Florida area. To allow young players who have graduated from High School, but may not have the necessary skills or grades to get to the next level, so while they attend school at a Community College or University, they are playing for us while working on their skills in the hopes of getting scouted. To strengthen our relationship with the Tampa Bay Area Community, which our football team serves, by giving back whenever possible through donations and volunteer time. As we continue to grow, we look forward to working with area schools, charities, and organizations through donations, volunteering, and increasing community awareness. To develop and maintain an environment of encouragement, discipline, respect, and pride. To provide the Tampa area with a low-cost, family-friendly source of fun and entertainment. Wednesday, November 7th All Cobras will be in full pads! Don't forget Mandatory practices begin on this date. if you are unable to make it you will need to call Coach Dave ahead of time or contact staff prior to practice day. Absences are excused on a case by case basis. The Cobra Staff and Coaches realize that there will be some of you that will have scheduling conflicts. You need to get those conflicts changed as soon as possible.

For those who have played for us in the past you know that Coach Bailey means what he says! In the event you do not make it to both practices or at least one practice with a valid excuss for missing the other you will not be a starter in Saturdays game. This does not mean you will not play, you will not start.

We have a great squad with a lot of talent this year and want all of our players to be motivated team players. I have been asked if you pay your fee's will you start.... Paying your fee does not guarantee a starting position, however it will guarantee you a spot on the team!! The roster will be closed at 48 unless the Cobras staff feels it is neccessary to ad more!.

Hey guys! We have had some great practices, and I am thrilled we all agree on the uniforms!

The uniforms MUST be ordered by Oct 30^th and with that said!!

Player Fees need to be in ASAP! The uniform company wants the whole amount prior to sending us uniforms. The total cost is $200 (includes pants, home and away jerseys, helmet decals, fields, and league fees).

Those paid in full by Oct 15th will get their name on the back of jersey, and those who pay in full by Oct 1st will also get to choose their number from those available. So get your money in now!!!

I sat at the field tonight at 5:45pm in a down pour! I was thinking to myself that this practice scheduled for 6pm is not going to happen. 15mins later the rain goes away and we are standing on the field with 31 players ready to get it done raining or not! You guys looked great tonight lets keep it up!

We are extremely excited in all the interest taken in our team this year! We are looking forward to a great season!

There were 8 players that contacted me prior to practice to let me know they would not be able to make it tonight. Communication is great thank you for letting us know so that we can adjust our practices accordingly.

Posted May 13/12 - Nominate Coach Of The Year!

To all the Suncoast Cobras family and friends go on The United Football Federation's facebook page and nominate your very own Coach David Bailey for Coach of the Year!!

Gene Allen No Doubt about! He is the most devoted Coach I have met in my 28 years of actually playing football. He took a bunch of guys who were drawing plays in the sand and turned us into a powerhouse, a family and a Team! What this man has done with this team is remarkable! He took a team that was only suppose to win a couple of games at the most, to a team that finished the season 6-4 in the UFF with a playoff birth and overall 8-4 counting games outside the UFF. Imagine this: Your a new Coach to the league you walk onto a practice field with 13 guys, who are having practice on a mesquito infested swamp we are using for a field. Not to mention using the over shadow of the lights from the Basketball court. Most Coaches would have walked away! Our group of misfits went from 13 to 47 down to a 34 man roster with a solid 25 players that committed to the team! This man took a group of guys and made a team out of them!! Did I mention that less than 10 of us ever played beyond youth Football, and less than 6 of the 10 played College or Semi-Pro. It is clear to me that Coach David Bailey is my nomination for Coach of The Year! He is an incredible Coach, Friend, Father, Husband and Mentor to us all!

Come join your Suncoast Cobras this Saturday May 5th at 2pm, when they take on the Hernando Hurricanes in Round one of the United Football Federations United Cup II Playoffs!

It promises to be a good one!

He currently has the record for most career receiving yards with 2,608 yards. He also has the record for most career receptions with 191.
