| What a difference a day makes! After what could only be called a thorough dismantling by Flint just 48 hours prior; the Oakland-Macomb RUN displayed strong efforts, poise, and deadeye shooting to get the season's first victory! Previouly undefeated and sitting on top in first place, the Hidden Gems are a longstanding WBCBL power; that already has wins over both Detroit and Flint (the RUN's first two opponents.) On June 5, two teams with a lot to prove, each in their own way, took the floor and went all-out in a highly competitive contest. The RUN got contributions in the scoring column from everyone; and the trademark scoring balance that the coaching staff noted early-on in the season would be a strength for us, was on full display. This was a great team victory, and a well-played ballgame. So, in one of the many curious paradoxes of this game; our first win comes against the 1st place team, that has already beaten the two teams that beat us! Stay tuned: the rest of the season is sure to be special! |
