PFLUGERVILLE, Texas-- The Pflugerville JV and freshman Gold (A) teams both advanced to their respective championship games at the three-day Pflugerville JV and Freshmen Tournament, hosted by the Panthers at Pflugerville High School.
Both Pflugerville teams are 3-0 at the tourney and will be in action at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 in the finals. The JV team faces Killeen Ellison in the main Panther Gym, while the P'ville Freshman Gold faces Vista Ridge in the small gym. Both Pflugerville teams are 11-0 on the season.
Thursday, the JV defeated Bowie (68-22) and picked up Friday wins over Vista Ridge (49-31) and McNeil (68-25). In the three games, the Panther JV was led by 45 points from sophomore post Ti'arra Pitts. Pitts scored a game-high 16 points against Bowie, 11 against Vista Ridge and a game-high 14 versus McNeil. Makyndra Simmons totaled 30 points in the three games.
Thursday, the freshman Gold stopped Westlake 46-37 as guard Alyssa Washington had 21 points and guard Taylor Fletcher added 10. Friday, the Panthers defeated Westwood (58-37) behind 25 points from Washington and 10 points from post Osayuwa Evbayiro, then stopped Waco Midway, 59-39, as Washington poured in 26 points.
The Pflugerville freshman Blue (B) team - one of only three "B" teams in freshmen tourney, lost to McNeill (46-15), Temple (35-14) and Leander (37-27). Laryssa Wills had eight points in the Leander game. |
