PFLUGERVILLE, Texas- State-ranked Pflugerville improved to 21-0
with a 43-32 District 16-5A win over Round Rock High School Monday night at
Panther Gym. The 11-point victory was the closest game of the year for the
Panthers who move to 2-0 in District action with the win.
Pflugervile trailed at the half (17-16)
before dominating play in the third quarter where the Panthers outscored the
Dragons, 14-6 to take a 30-23 lead into the final quarter.
Round Rock is now 7-7 overall and suffered
its first District loss in three outings.
Junior guard Taylor Ross led the Panthers
with nine points and team-highs of four assists and five steals. Senior post Itiana Taylor added eight points, nine rebounds and two steals. Junior guard
Brenisha Payne chipped in with seven points while senior guard Jasmyn Bookerpulled down seven rebounds.
The Panthers stand No. 3 in
the Class 5A state rankings conducted by TABC/Tex Preps Basketball Magazine and are ranked No. 2 in the Texas Girls Coaches Association 5A
poll.
Pflugerville will break for the Christmas holiday and return to action at the annual Mansfield Rotary Tournament which begins on Dec. 26. Please check back later for tourney pairings, pool play schedule and details.

The Panther JV and freshman Gold (A) teams were both victorious over their Round Rock opponents to continue their winning ways.
The junior varsity remains undefeated at 19-0 with a 57-27 win behind sophomore guard Stephanie Onyeje's 16 points.
The freshman Gold squad is now 15-1 after a 61-18 win as guard Alyssa Washington poured in 32 points.
Both the JV and freshmen return to action on January 3 at Westwood High School with the JV game at 6 p.m. while the Freshman Gold make a 5:30 p.m. start.
