The Big 12 has selected former Pflugerville standout and current University of Texas forward Nneka Enemkpali as the Phillips 66 Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference
announced on Jan. 23. The voting was conducted by a panel of media covering
Big 12 women's basketball. This is the first collegiate league honor for Enemkpali who was an All-State selection for head coach Nancy Walling at PHS.
Enemkpali averaged 7.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in Texas'
win over Iowa State and loss at Oklahoma last week as she earned her first
two starts of the season and averaged 24 minutes per game. Enemkpali recorded a season-high nine points at OU and pulled down eight rebounds. Enemkpali is averaging 6.2
rpg in Big 12 games.
As a senior last year, Enemkpali was a 2011 McDonald's All-American Team nominee and Women's Basketball
Coaches Association (WBCA) Honorable Mention All-American as she helped
Pflugerville to the UIL 5A state tournament regional finals (Final Eight) and a 30-7 final record.
