Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.  The Portland rockets traveled to Springfield oh, just east of Dayton wed nite to face the ohio warhawks.

Yes, those warhawks, the club that travels in the vans, that beat us on crossroads nite 12-1, those players that come from all over the country to live in one big dorm and are on major league draft boards. Don’t forget they also lost to Portlands billy geeslin on june 19 7-1.  so they beat us again.  At a most beautiful Wittenberg stadium , home of the Wittenberg do you know their nickname—trent baily I believe went there, former rocket matt steinke did too, the tigers  ohio warhawks 11 portland rockets 6.

Same old bugaboo early and the rockets down 5-0  shoddy umpiring only made things the tougher. We urge our young men to be professional, but they tend to be boys anyway. We are working on that----but the men in blue are supposed to be professional too---

2 hours from home and down 5,  why not an old touch of medicine?? An old rocket rally.

And in the 5 th here come the boys from Portland. Against a pitcher from las Vegas, just signed to go to ucla, talk about traveling for the competition, rockets score 4 to narrow the game 5-4 .  grant hendershot singled, randal muhlenkamp doubled, singles by Dalton tinsely, kirby Campbell, tom mccowan, Justin Marrero and a sacrifice fly by billy wellman and we have 4 runs on 6 hits.

Rocket rally—I get excited when I mention those names---we have a good team.

But as we have on occasion, we still have some kinks.,  game close pitcher geeslin who struck out 8 in 5 plus inn. Walks the leadoff hitter, and a botched double play open the floodgates.   Keep in mind they use aluminum bat and it does make it easier to make more solid contact..  the next three ground balls find ways to produce runners and the warhawks are back on the warpath.  Cody Harrison called on to put out the fire, he gives up no runs in 2 inn. Striking out 4.. you got a like that---I do like him! Bullpen coach doug tinsely likes him too

Rocket offense had 12 hits, 3 by Marrero and hendershot 2 each by tinsely and mccowan. 

Warhawks now 21-4/ Portland 18-8

Hey baseball fans, hear is a rumor:  remember Geraldine? Well you didtn hear it from me. Runkle-miller field is getting a new equipment shed----oh please no, we have a shed—we need a building.  Currently u see our materials when taking a trip to the rest room

 Don’t trip over the firehose, bags of clay,turfus and lime, the lime chalker and paint striper, the car seat foam we use to soak up puddles of water, the old signs, helmets, steer clear of the grill and the event tent.  Don’t bump your head on the tables stacked over the stalls.  We have a lot of crap in the bathroom,,,,,,that is one better than even Jeffery o can come up,   a lot of crap in the bathroom

This aint no rumor,.  Portland hosts a year end tournament aug 3-5----we drive to the competition and they drive to us.  Portland, Chicago, Cleveland, and Louisville have all made plans to make the Portland World Baseball congress tournament.  More on this blockbuster later,  I know 33 rooms at the holiday inn express one year.

More competition this time staying in Portland this weekend.  The Indiana cubs from Chicago will play sat at 1 pm a dh. Then a single game sun at 1pm.  Brad miller asked a good question how are they the Indiana cubs from Chicago???? Guess we will find out

Happy birthday to rocket captain and all American heath Williams,,,,we sure miss him at his postion,,,,I think we have had 6 guys at second.
