WACO, Texas - The No. 4 state-ranked Pflugerville Panthers moved to 9-0 on the year with a low-scoring 51-27 victory over Southlake Carroll Tuesday night. The game was played at a neutral site at Waco Midway High School.
The Panthers, now 9-0, received another balanced scoring attack. Senior guard Amy Staha led the way with 10 points and was the lone Panther in double-figure scoring. Three others - junior guard Alyssa Echols, junior forward Jaden Sturm and senior guard Taylor Ross - each chipped in with six points. Sturm led P'ville with seven rebounds while Ross had for steals.
The Panthers led Southlake Carroll (3-5) by a 25-12 margin at intermission. Southlake Carroll had started the year as a top-10 ranked squad in Texas 5A play.
Then game was Pflugerville's seventh in a span of five days. The Panthers return to action after Thanksgiving when they travel to Cedar Park in a non-district matchup. The varsity game tips at 7 p.m., while at 5:30 p.m. the junior varsity and freshman Gold squads will be in action.
