PFLUGERVILLE, Texas - Behind game-highs of 13 points from senior guards Taylor Ross and Bre Payne and 11 points from senior post Jonelle Smith, No. 10 nationally-ranked Pflugerville registered a 78-41 win over District opponent Hendrickson on "Senior Night" Friday.
The Panthers, who have clinched the District 16-5A title for the third consecutive year, improves to 32-0 and are 11-0 in the District with one game to play. This is the eight District title for the Pflugerville program in the last 10 years and the seventh time in the last eight years that coach Nancy Walling's Panthers have earned the district crown.
Behind hot shooting in the first half, Pflugerville jumped out to a 48-9 lead at intermission. The Panthers shot a torrid 22 for 37 from the floor in the first half and shot 8-for-10 from the foul line. Hendrickson was held to four-for-23 shooting in the first half and the Panther pressure forced the Hawks into 16 turnovers in the first 16 minutes of action.
Pflugerville will close out regular season play on Tuesday, Feb. 5 when it travels to District opponent Cedar Ridge for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
