Nationally-ranked Pflugerville continues its UIL State playoff competition on Tuesday, Feb. 19 when it meets local opponent Austin Bowie in a Region II quarterfinal contest. The game will take place at McNeil High School in Austin and will have a 6:30 p.m. tip. Pflugerville stands 35-0 while the Bowie Bulldogs are 20-12.
After winning the District 16-5A title, Pflugerville advanced to the Regional quarterfinals for the 21st time in program history with victories over Lake Travis (87-24) in Bi-District play and over Houston Klein Forest (67-55) in Area round action on February 15. Bowie upset the state's No. 14 ranked The Woodlands (28-8), 56-50 on Feb. 14 in Area play.
The Pflugerville-Bowie winner advances to the Region II semifinals and finals weekend competition which takes place Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22 and 23 at the Ferrell Center on the campus of Baylor University in Waco. The regional semifinals are Friday evening (6 and 8 p.m.), with those winners facing off in the finals Saturday evening (6 p.m.).
