Crossroads nite at the ballpark  july18, 2013
 
Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland. 
The Portland rockets back home Thursday nite and it was a buzzin at the corner of western and blaine.  It was crossroads credit union nite.  Parking lot was full, people milling about enjoying baseball and our field of dreams, runkle-miller field.   great work parks dept/ doug blankenbaker. Great help david waters, great support Portland. 
Thanks fred bailey and so many more.  The atmosphere on what was the hottest day of the year was special. 
Portland rockets are in first place in the red Carrington league.  They did their part defeating the ft wayne marlins 6-2.  Michael caley was strong on the hill.  7 inn 12 ks and 3hits, 1 walk 1 run.  102 pitches. Michael from markle is the only married guy on the club.  He pitched Sunday at Goshen college.  Tyler Reynolds and Dylan brammer finished up.  And did  you hear Dylan brammer’s fastball?  I know you didn’t see it.  
Rockets had 9 hits, breaking open a close 2-1 game in the 6th with 3 runs.  2 hits each by zach tanner and chris miller.  Dalton tinsley led off with a double and scores on Justin marreros double, logan hug scores on hit by tanner. Rockets win 2h 18 min .

Ray cooney shared he was out there at the field for 12 years and never got the call. 
Perhaps most rewarding, seeing all the former rockets at crossroads nite.  Dean Monroe, the most colorful left fielder ever, butch gray, gary sautbine, mike poling, larry chittum –wonder what they see when they look out over the green field?? Hearing the baseball buzz about the ballyard,  music and Donald gillispie entertaing. 
The ft wayne coach was quite complimentary of what we have in Portland.  Way to go carley and company in the lunching pad.  And thanks crossroads –jeanna and becky-we do have quite a support group in Portland. 
Rockets win 6-2 record 26-5
Rockets play at home sat and sun. 1 pm dh.  Sat ft wayne jackers and garrett wiejak coming to town we beat them twice to win the firecracker tournament  they have beaten us as well .  great matchup in portland sat. dan bollenbacker and junior santos on the mound. Sunday rockets at home vs. expos.  Tyler Reynolds and Justin miller the starters.
Crossroads nite, great nite in Portland. 
Bring your cooler and see ya sat. hey we will catch ya at the community city basketball game at east jay 715 vs the dunkin diesel.
