FIRST PERIOD
The Riels came flying out of the gates scoring on the power play at the 2:00 mark when Brian Dies blasted
one past Fleury from Russell Trudeau and Brett Charette.
Then 54 seconds later Ryan Wilgosh put one past Fluery to make it 2 – 0 early assists coming from Young
and Gorrie.
The Riels kept on pressing, dominating in every category. Made it 3 – 0 at 10:59 when Russell Trudeau
sniped one past Fleury from Michael Gorrie.
Then at 11:41 on a quick turnover in the neutral zone, Jessie Toth drilled a shot past Riels net minder
Kyle Vandemosselaer to make it 3 -1 Riels.
With the Riels working hard late in the first frame, Glen Young put a puck past Fleury at 18:17 with
assists coming from Michaels and Gorrie. Then 22 seconds later Mark Sharman finished off a play late
putting one past Fleury to make it 5 -1 with assist coming from Artur Raevskiy. Riels out shot the Hawks
13 – 5.
SECOND PERIOD
Only 1 goal scored in the period and it was the Riels scoring at 12:37. Captain Gorrie snapped a shot
passed Fleury; assists went to Young and Gauthier.
The Hawks out shot the Riels 13 -11 in the second.
THIRD PERIOD
Riels played a close checking game throughout. The line of Russell Trudeau, Brian Dies and Brett
Charette dominated shift after shift finished off the Hawks at 4:21 of the third by a goal scored by Russell
Trudeau assists coming from Dies and Charette. That made it 7 – 1.
Hawks scored a goal at 13:31 on the power play one shot from the point by Ferbers, assists went to Groen
& Pollock.
The Riels out shot the Hawks 30 – 23 overall. Final score 7 – 2 Riels.
