Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.  Thrs nite at runkle-miller

Field, under a full moon, the Portland rockets dropped a wood bat ballbame to the

Ft. wayne panthers from st. francis; 6-4.

Rockets got behind the 8 ball early giving up 3 runs on 0 hits after 3 inn, but did

Rocket rally to tie the game in the 6^th 4-4.  rockets would not dent the plate again, stranding a glaring 14 men on base,,,exciting to the end –portland put runners on the corners with one out, but mitch waters popped out and tj lindstrand hit a laser, right to

The 1^st baseman for the out,,,,a game of inches, just a couple either way and it would have found the right field corner and perhaps tied the game.

Rockets out hit the foes of ft wayne 10-7 put left to many opportunities squandered.

2 hits each for kokomo kids logan barnes and Dalton tinsley, connor milligan and mitch waters hit doubles.\

5 rocket pitchers toiled and foiled, 8 walks and 2 hits batsmen,  2 hour 50 min. in this titanic struggle

Alex delk, gary Williams, milligan, Justin miller, and tyler Reynolds and we had Wesley

Hibbard ready just in case.

This was a disappointing loss, one wonders how we let this game slip away, but we did have baserunners nabbed at the plate, hit into double plays, and just did not protect our house,,,,as yogi berra said,,”90% of this game is half mental.”

We should note that Indiana all-star kyle selvey did play a stellar shortstop and made many a fine play;  I enjoyed the fellas approach to the game,,,he even garnered his first rocket hit.

we should note winning pitcher was former rocket keaton sullivan from lima,, he played part of last season with portland.

Rockets are now 25 games into the season.  The 6-4 loss makes the team record 15-10

Sun back to ft wayne vs 4^th of july tournament champions.  Bollenbacher and helm vs the expos.

Nothing like hearing the resonant sound of bat on the ball,  I told logan barnes that rockets shot he hit woke up the whole ballpark
