Portland rockets sweep ft. wayne kekionga 11-1 and 9-2

Sunday game 3 of the grand lake Celina set called due to rain

Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.

When the one great scorer comes to mark against your name, he asks not it you won or lost but did you beat ft. wayne

Portland rockets did  Saturday, winning over northeast kekionga from Indiana tech 11-1 and 9-2 at runkle-miller field. Rockets won game one in 5 inn. Pretty much kekionaged ntheir booty, breaking open a 2-1 game in the 4^th with 2 runs then mercy ruled em with 7 runs in the 5^th,  Brandon reamon from Dayton 3 hits, tinsley 2 run and a 2 run triple, billy geeslin got us on the board with a 2 run double, Thomas mccowan walked 4 times on the day,  and chandler ingle, rookie infielder just up from south adams, highly recommended from coach brad Buckingham, himself a rocket veteran, smacked his first rocket hit down the line scoring 2 runs. 

All quite enough for a very effective manager of the game, our trusty lefthander tyler Reynolds.  Happy birthday tyler  24 years old, one of my favorite success stories does the mound work, 86 pitches 3 ks, 3 walks  no earned runs 4 hits.

It was a great breezy day at the corner for baseball and it was persimmon ridge day, several made the bus trip out to ballgame, sang take me out to the ballgame,

Rockets went to work in game 2 scoring 3 runs off the bat for starter garrett scott,

And never looked back winning 9-2.  garrett is a smooth easy gas righthand flamethrower from Goshen, and Huntington university, he comes with other good guys from Huntington, that’s what good players do, girlfriends, too.

Garett walks 0, ks 3 in 4 inn. Jimmy west from Dayton 1 inn, Wesley hibbard 1 and Carson cruea 1.

Reamon 2 more hits, that’s 5 on the day, 2 hits with a moonshot double for alex delk, 2 hits kyle Selvey, double and rbi Dalton tinsely, ryan penley from Sidney 2 run bingo.

Justin segers from marion 2 run bingo as well.

Great to hear the sounds of the crack of the bat, and the chatter and of course, our public address guys ---samantha Thomas and tony Reynolds, topnotch,,,,,,our pa guy for 8 years dan haines from Geneva also stopped by.

Rained out at management decision in Celina Sunday, key game 3 not to be

Maybe a bit gunshy, but it did rain. No game Sunday,

Rockets dan bollenbacher will , oh yeah we drove to grand lake, but didn’t play, he will pitch tues 7 pm at  Carrington field vs the ft wayne marlins.

Rockets back home thurs nite vs. summit city sluggers.

Rockets have won 5 games lost one, rained out 7

Oh well, digest this the mighty oak. was once a nut that stood his ground.

Rocket notes:  our thoughts are with mariners PA man and good friend Wulfy, Mark Wulfhorst who is fine, but totaled his car Saturday.
