June 20, 2016 PORTLAND ROCKETS SWEEP INDIANA BANDITS 14-8 AND 12-1

Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.  And it was certainly a great week for our friends across the border in ft recovery,,, a fantastic jubilee celebration,

Must say I even won one of the duck races and always a great visit with yakow and neal spencer, .

Portland rockets had a jubilee celebration at home plate this weekend, scoring runs in bunches, defeating the Indiana bandits 14-8 and 12-1.  in front of a large crowd sat. at runkle-miller field, a rocky start for lefthander Andrew bobeck from bethel college found the the Indianapolis/Greenfield team up 5-1 in the second ---this club beat us in the may 28^th,  but the rockets tallied 9 times in the 4^th and cruised to the 14-8 win.  Zach tanner clubbed a monster home run in the fateful 4^th and Kevin sharpe, 1^st year guy from indy clubbed his first homer a grand slam .  as sports editor chris schantz pointed out the top four hitters in the Portland lineup-10 hits. BY THE WAY  great front page article on the rockets in sat. the CR.   Tinsley, geeslin,tanner and waters, Enough to allow rocket reliever d’qaun Blackmon to go 5 inn for the win.  Dquann a Muncie south guy allowed 3 run 4 hits.

Rockets nailed down game 2 12-1 in 5 inn. Dan bollenbacher another strong outing 4 inn 8 ks.  83 pitches

5 hits on the day for Dalton tinsley 4 each for billy geeslin and zach tanner, 3 for mitch waters,

Kevin sharpe a homer and a double, geoff bowers from lima had 2 hits

Rockets welcomed aboard new catcher ben breymier from indy. Ben plays ball in mobile Alabama and his dad, ron breymier bought a rocket hat.  What karma, bens dad is a 1970 graduate of Portland high school and here he is Portland, his son a rocket.
