Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland

For when the one great scorer comes to mark against  your name, he asks not if you won or lost but did you beat ft. wayne

Portland rockets back to work mon eve in ft wayne, taking care of baseball business defeated the ft. wayne jackers 12-2 in 8 inn.

Rockets take 4 out of 5 vs the jackers winning the last 3 in a row outscoring their rival 32-8

This game was 2 -2 in the 7^th , rockets had ties  in the 5^th on Kevin sharps 2^nd homer of the season into the net in left

With a few starters unavailable, we knew this could be a tough game in the jackers back yard, but we had an answer, it is dan bollenbacher’s turn on the mound.

Dan walked 4 batters early before settling in/ they scored 2 runs in the1st and that’s all for it. Dan the 10 year rocket veteran was the answer, 7 inn, 8 ks 6 hits 126 pitches.  Battery mate Isaac fitzgerald from st. marys deserves a lot of credit for a job well done behind the plate, he had a nice rbi double in the 8th

Dan is the rocket ace and that’s what they do, pick the club up and deliver in the clutch.

Interesting to note, the rockets former ace matt ousley pitched in the contest for the jackers

Matt ousley was that rocket ace for 12 years, both guys from berne, both guys rocket all time favorites

Rockets broke open a 2-2 tie with 6 runs in the 7^th  sharp, tristen becker and tinsley with rbi hits

Becker from st marys oh, had 4 hits, 3 each by billy geeslin and sharp, 2 for tinsley,

But the big guy in the middle of the field, bollenbacher was the workhorse , the answer

Dan borchers pitched the last inn and rockets win moves record to 18-5

Wow, play of the day, last inn and little duck snort of a fly ball just in back of 3^rd base, to see ss billy geeslin in chase, what an athletic play, sprinting , laying out prone to the ground and gobbling that ball up for the out, wow

Rockets game wed at taylor university, sadly has been cancelled, lack of ----well take your pick, they don’t have enough players, very not good baseball business,

Rockets will be in action sat in Cincinnati 2 pm start at Lakota west high school

Vs. a good Cincinnati chiefs club.  We drive to find the competition. Rockets then sun play the Yorkville yaks at south Dearborn h.s.

Wow nothing like a little midnite snack after a long nite in ft wayne, how about some 7 layer salad----bless you Jeff and Janice muhlenkamp---bestest neighbors , love ya in rainbow city

Rockets beat ft. wayne jackers 12-2 now 18-5 on the season,,,,,,word is out , Portland has a pretty darn good baseball team,
