Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.  What is hotter than playing baseball in ft wayne at Indiana tech during a heat advisory last evening?

It said 88 on my phone, 92 on my car, and catcher tj lindstrand who caught all 9 inn said he lost 10 lbs.

What is hotter than the Portland rockets winners over kekionga 13-9,  rockets have now won 9 games in a row pushing their record to 23-5.  maybe hotter than anything,  rocket ss zach tanner, the Yorktown yakker went deep again at Indiana tech wed. nite, his 5^th home run in his last 4 games, number 14 on the season, and it was a rocket launcher, over the fence in straight away cf onto Anthony blvd.  holy cow

It made the day for this old guy,

Rockets had just taken the lead in the 5^th inn when billy ballgame, bill geeslin hit a jack into the net in left cf, a 3 run blast rockets now ahead 5-2, the back to back jack, tanner hits his bomb

As yogi said, anything hit that far should have a stewardess on it

Kevin sharp also hit a 3 run homer, that guy puts some lift on the ball, a sky shot to left, in the 7^th

Rockets took a 10-5 lead and held on, starter Andrew bobeck went 2 plus inn before leaving with a blister, Derek thobe from coldwater went 5 inn, 4 ks he was the winning pitcher, alex delk and mitch waters finished up nailing em 1,2,3 in the 9th

Tanner went 3 for 4, 2 doubles that one hopped the fence, he is 11-19 in the last 5 games, a .579 batting ave.

He also knocked a couple batting practice balls out of the park, I  know  I pitched batting practice. And that may be the last time, too sweaty for this fella

Rockets had 13 hits on the evening, 3 by tanner, 2 each by waters delk and sharp

Rockets, again winners of 9 straight conclude the regular season Sunday. A 1 pm dh vs the whitco royals in Portland  at runkle-miller field.   The royals winners of the ft. wayne federation vs the Portland rockets, winners of the ft. wayne 4^th of july tournament, a championship Sunday in Portland.

It is supposed to be a little nicer weather wise Sunday .  no games fri sat, as the field this year for our regional tournament has dropped out.

It is fan appreciation day Sunday, so stop out at the corner of western and blaine, bring your lawn chair, pack your cooler and root root root for the rockets, for if they don’t win it’s a shame, been winning 9 straight 23-5 one of the best rocket squads ever,

We will be giving out some prizes as we close up shop for another fine season in Portland.

Note:  happy birthday today to a rocket success story, mike dull from berne, mike was recruited while in a rocket uniform to attend university of southern Alabama and was louis Gonzales roommate, later mike signed professionally with the montreal expos
