Professional Offensive Play Book Profile

Posted July 5, 2017

What's in a professional development academy Texas Football League offensive playbook?

The exact same things that are in most other playbooks, here's an example of what a professional football playbook contains, but every coach has his own base of which he draws his concept.

But here is the basic concept, a playbook should be developed off the following profile:

After the Title of whatever the system will be,

There should be an Introduction: it will establish the Pyschology of the system, Purpose, and Goals

Next- System procedures to Practice, Conditioning

Training Practice, Drills Routins schedule

Offensive Formations without defense

Run game formations and blocking schemes

Pass game formations verses cover packages

Defensive formations

Players and coaches game prep

You can vary it as you want as is the case for most coaches.

Now what's in a play call? while some coaches like to use longgggg wording to call a simple play it can be done in as few as three number's or words.

the play call describes the formation, blocking schemes, strength of formation- motion if any and the snap count,

here's an example of a play call by one academy team 213-Flydog-Leon-Waco-snap count including audible.

This play can be called at the line with a dummie call so the defense can't detect which call is the active call.

this play gave the formation-blocking scheme- strength for slot/receiver-and motion- the snap count will be the last words spoken.

The playbook is the teams operating manual when developed, and without one or a solid pyschology of what the purpose or goals are, success will be limited no matter how good the athlete on that team.
