CLEVELAND-The Delta State University football team spent its first day in full pads on Wednesday at the DSU Football practice fields.
The nearly three hour workout featured multiple team drills, inculding 7-on-7 drills. Also, as has been the procedure each day, each position group worked with its respective coaches.
Temperatures were in the upper 80's for most of the practice, which was spent in overcast conditions.
"I really liked how we competed today," said Statesmen head coach
Ron Roberts. "Everyone was really excited to get out here with all of the gear on, especially the newcomers."

The Statesmen will continue fall camp on Thursday, as they will hold the first two-a-day session of the summer. Both practices will be conducted in full gear.
The morning practice begins at 8:00 a.m., while the night session begins at 7:00 p.m., which will be the first practice of the fall under the lights of McCool Stadium.
